Any ideas?

Hopefully Fleck will be fit enough to play, we will needs speed, we made that mistake last time, so do we think Mcburnie or Sharp and Mousett maybe??

Will Wilder change the midfield even if Fleck doesn't return, and how??

Saving grace, we still have Henderson!!

And this game is on SKY one and Pick for free at 1pm, so Sunday drinking is back! (I know it never went away, but everyday has been like a Sunday for the past 3 months!)
Kick off is 2pm drinking will start well before 1pm I hope!

The pre match build up starts at 1pm on SKY one or Pick and KO at 2pm.
It's Sunday, it's match day and it's fathers day, drinking starts with bacon and egg sarnies at breakfast 👍

Anybody else looking forward to newcastle shit housing for 90 minutes rolling on the floor like a kid who didn't get the xbox for Christmas..

I hope they get their dream and Bruce gets fired when the takeover goes through.. Frankenstien football...

Other than that looking forward to Sunday...

If no fleck or JOC we have to have Freeman and Robinson. Robinson was solid at the back and I'd maybe like to see him venture forwards a bit more as everything went down one side, Freeman would definitely open that up.

I don't think Mcburnie and Sharp had much service, seemed like too much messing around and not enough mixing it up with early crossing. We went left then went straight back to the right as Bash would give us the usual overload, where as we didn't have anything going on the left.

What ever team Wilder picks I'll trust, can't see Newcastle doing much after the last game we played 🙄. We should have the advantage of the game behind us what ever team is chosen that's for sure.

My Team for Sunday... (assuming JOC is out and Didsy is fit)

..................................Hendo

.................Bash...........Egan.........Stevens

Baldock..........................................................Osbourne

................................Norwood

..........Lunny.........................................Fleck (Freeman if Fleck injured)

...................Mcgoldrick............Mousett

Now that’s Robinson losing his place when he was our most solid defender and seems unfair but our system when successful depends on those wide overlapping overloads which Stevens showed last season he could do.

Also Mousett was average when he came on but we need pace of some sort and he’s the best (Only) option.

Is wondering how many different ways Ben's surname can be spelt wrong in one thread 😉

Unkle, very American ;)

Huge game this now, I know they are all huge games at this stage, but after the spurs result tonight, we could open up a 5 point gap on them with 8 to go

And with them to come at home we could more or less take them out of the equation

If we want top five we have to beat Newcastle really.

Result with Spurs and Man U was exactly what we needed. Nobody is gushing over us like they were doing just before lockdown its as though we've been written off again which is good because we can sneak up and whammy them as we stay in the top 6 !

The season is still in our hands after that, 3pts at Newcastle will give us a big boost going forwards and put pressure on everyone around us.

Can't wait for Sunday now.

Not sure based on your posts over the last few months that will happen 🤔
If there's one day I'm allowed, it's this one. She's just wittered on for 15 solid minutes about how proud she is of what she's bought me for fathers day from the kids and thought outside the box.

My response?

"All I want is a lie-in"

She's just called me ungrateful 🤣🤣🤣

Every time I read one of your posts about you and your missus , I can't help thinking about the old Music Hall song "It's a Great Big Shame" by Gus Elen .

Check it out AH , it might give you a chuckle and ring a few bells . :)

Thought we were really poor against Villa. regardless of players missing. Really surprised at our seeming lack of fitness, pace, and ambition going forward after what CW said about "we'll be in better shape than anyone else". I also thought we looked vulnerable from set-pieces, too. Need a major upping of tempo against NU. Hope we get it. Had a feeling we'd win this return match after the defeat at BDTBL.

Big game. 0-2

It might give me a chuckle. A lot does (believe it or not). I consider myself quite a hoot to go out with for a drink. I'm not always miserable.

But I don't ask for much. Leave me to have a lie-in that I'm in such desparate need for.

Bet it's an alarm clock! 🤣

I am tempted to not make too many judgements from one, very peculiar game, as most of the team looked a bit off to be honest. Only Henderson, Bash, McBurnie and particularly Robinson had a good game.

But I am wary of a Lunny/ Berge midfield pairing going forward. I can't see Berge performing the Jack of all Trades role that Fleck does so well, and although Lunny is two footed, he didn't seem to want to bomb forward as much as he would on the inside right channel. Combine that with fewer overlapping CB runs on the left side, and we looked very static. Stevens had a poor game by his standards too, which didn't help.

So if Fleck isn't fit I would absolutely drop Berge to the bench and go with either L Freeman or Osborne to add some flair and dynamism into LCM. Lunny back into RCM.

Up top I would only make a change if we feel that we need someone to drop deep to help smother their midfield, in which case start McG and McB.

So many games to play in short order. Despite injuries, Wilder has signaled his intent. He bought back up squad players for a reason.
We have a one game head start over them, and Bruce is tactically predictable.
I predict that Wilder will use the full range of options over the last 9 games, It will give him a good idea who is up for it in the league, with an interesting incentive of a big FACup game to come.
I think what he said about having extra subs, was misdirection. He know he will need them, and they will all benefit from game time.
Go blades.
