We are an embarrassment ! Lined up three Division One class trialists McDonald, Kruk and Duke and then admit we can't afford to sign them up 'till we get rid of a high earner!
Yet we waste pounds and pounds offering Kozluk a new deal!!!
McCabe has overseen our demise, most of the faults lie at his door and yet this wealthy man stands back and lets his new manager admit that we are skint and can't afford to sign these guys!
Does McCabe want us to wallow in the third division forever playing in front of a half filled Bramall Lane or 5,6,7000 fans at best at 90% of other grounds in this division.
He appopinted Wilson, yet won't back him - no wonder we are reduced to the Maestro and Doyle as our 'best' midfield pairing !
God help us !!!

Team not lost yet....so pick up the old stick to beat the club with. I'm sure you'll keep the 'Players' stick close by for when we lose the next game, you can then put the 'Chairman' stick down.

Mc Cabe promised Wilson millions to spend did he? or maybe he actually told him ''If you take it you've got to sell before you can spend''

Exactly Boo, it's not as if we all didn't know what had to happen this summer. The clear message was, we have to sell before we can buy. I don't see the issue.

Not exactly. We followed the time-honoured "Blades way"

1. Wilson said we did not have to get rid of people before he could bring some new blood in.

2. He then went back on this statement.

Hang on, we are no talking about millions here  we are talking reasonable wages for the third division - no transfer fees - we are talking about a guy that can't get a gig with Burnley, a German 2nd division full back and a free from Hull - NOT £ MILLIONS

And has he not 'sold or given away' Yeates and Henderson - they could pay those three with less than 50% of Hendersons 'wages'

who did he buy before we sold?

So you know how much Hendo was getting paid?

The team has beaten a very poor Oldham side and drawn with mighty Hartlepool !!!
United will be very, very fortunate to get shut of Monty & Evans Unfortunately we're stuck with Ertl, Doyle and Collins so who are they going to raise any cash or save on wages.
Quinny will be the only one that is genuinely sellable but, we ought to keep him if we want to get out of this division first time up!

OK if you think I have a collection of sticks to beat people with let me make myself crystal clear:

The Chairman - solely responsible for our current position with bad management, poor choices and selling off our assetts
The Manager - very unhappy with his appointment but we are stuck with him, poor recent track record, nothing to do with his S6 connections - let him change my opinion
The Players - Vastly underperformed last season, are capable of doing well in this division
The High Earners - Unfortunately, we are saddled with the Maestro, Evans etc and will not be able to get shut - get them pl;aying to the best of their ability to either move them on in January or win promotion at the first time of asking - prove the fans wrong and show us what you can do!

McCabe is trying to cut the wage bill by too much too quickly. Someone needs to remind him that putting money in comes with the territory when you own a football club.

Whoof whoof whoof, always with the negative waves.

Nothing to do with Negative Waves -it's actually called being ' REALISTIC' and yes it was well documented when he left that Henderson was being paid around £14 k per week -

Amazed all fans haven't realised the new reality yet given it's been going on for a long time now.

And people really do need to accept that getting rid of one player on 10k per week does not free up 10k per week for wages for other players.

McCabe is determined to sort out the mess that he has presided over by getting as much money back as he reasonably can. The club's league poisition is not the main priority it is finances.

To be fair the club has been unlucky over the Evans saga. They must have expected someone would be stupid enough to take him on before the charges and even if DW only got 25% of his wages it may have covered the 3 trialists.

The story of recent years...bad management and bad luck.

Only 22 days left to the end of the transfer window, a couple of injuries to key players and / or last minute player sales and we could be shopping in loan city again. We may get away with it but we seem to be sailing close to the wind again and we know where that left us in the last 2 seasons.

It's all about cash flow - If outgoings exceed incomings you go bust

I doubt this is a problem for McCabe given his resources.

If people wants us to spend money we dont have than more fool you.

Weve won our first 2 games this season, its about getting a winning mentality, you can only beat who's put infront of you and people saying "so what weve beat and average oldham and mighty hartlepool" likes its a joke. Were in this division due to they way the club has been financially run in the past and the bad appointments that have been made. Give Wilson a chance, its the 10th of August - if im correct there is still 21 days of the transfer window left? Thought so. Leeds, Donny are both looking like they still need players, i wouldnt be suprised if monty and boggy go before end of window - maybe ched depending on this rape charge.

Let wilson get on with it, and heres to 3 more points on saturday.

I'm just pleased Fiery has finally clarified his position, I never would have suspected...

Yep I must go to the first home game with a heavy heart an an attitude of depression instead of wanting to cheer my team on in the first home game win of a new season.
Bollocks maybe I should stop supporting them altogether
Or maybe on the back of nothing else but a realisation where we are but in the hope that DW is the man to lift our club, I'll keep supporting them and wont be depressed by others before we've even kicked a ball at home.

We don't know what McCabe's resources currently are.

Stock markets around the world have been in freefall for several days, in case you hadn't noticed.

Two wins out of two (both away). Creating chances and limiting the opposition to very few.

They can only beat the sides put in front of them. So far so good as far as I am concerned.

Whats the problem?

hey ....................... the money thats been wasted at BDTBL on McCabes watch is on a par with Gordon and the labour loonies !

Who said anything about being depressed and not supporting them?
I am neither depressed as you put it or have stopped supporting them!!!
I am however embarrassed at our current standing in English football, annoyed that players with very limited talent and skill are milking the club dry and disappointed that the chairman having taken us to such depths is now not prepared to back his choice manager with a few pounds to get the squad to a reasonable depth to enable the team to challenge for promotion - same city, same division, same economic climate yet our neighbours in S6 have just splashed out £350k for a new striker

Is McDonald definitely a no go? Is this official? It'd be a shame if we couldn't sign him because he'd be a very good player in this division and he could replace Monty or Doyle.

My next door neighbour could replace Monty or Doyle and he is 79 !!!

The problem is, an injury to Collins, an injury to Lecs, and injury to Lowton, Quinn / Monty / Willo all disappear on 31st August. We only had one defender available as cover last night and at one point, both Maguire and Lowton were hobbling about.

The likes of McDonald aren't going to hang around waiting if another offer comes in.

Your annoyance is duly noted. If you wish to hide the fact from others you meet that you are a Blade that is also your choice. I however will continue to be proud of being a Blade will not be embarrassed and will defend against banter from wherever it comes.
