Free Hit is such a nonsense phrase. First of all points are always on offer and it's not like we haven't walloped Burnley once. Secondly our chances are winning the next two are severely compromised as a direct result of this one, so there's nowt free about it.

Your second point is exactly why the OP said so much for a free hit.

There was an argument that we were expecting nothing from the game, so anything we got was a bonus - hence the free hit. I don't think many people would have expected to lose our first-choice keeper for two games as a result of it.

I wasn't having a go at the OP, just the use of the phrase in general. I've never agreed with it, one because points are always on offer and two because no match exists in isolation - they have an effect on subsequent games.

Sad thing is, it is the mistakes that are remembered mostly, not the great saves, two or 3 weeks ago Wes made a fantastic double save, plus many others that has put us in the position we are in now with the league and fa cup.
Cmon Wes lad you will bounce back from this and so will Robbo.
