Coventry fans launch two pitch invasions

Coventry fans throw Tennis Balls exclusively at our players

Coventry fans blows whistles to directly distract our players when attacking

Coventry fan(s) launch physically violent attacks on our fans..

The upshot...

The overwhelming consensus on the Internet and Twitter is "Sheffield United fans are an absolute disgrace"

Weird isn't it?

Richard Scumdamore currently lobbying for Billy Sharps 2nd goal to be disallowed because it's not fair on their fans.

THe saving grace is that Coventry is a vile cunting shithole full of vile cunting shts.
Be grateful our part of Sheffield is heavenly.
And breathe.....

We do seem to be adopting a "fuck everyone" attitude, as displayed at the Valley too when the tamest of tame disruptions was roundly booed.

I recall we were a bit pissed off by fans that criticised us over appealing over the Tevez saga mind.

Nasty nasty Sheffield United.

They should have just applauded the Coventry fans as they turned the whole event into a complete farce.

No.

Act like wankers, we'll return the favour. Hope it upset the pathetic little babies. In fact there's no need to hope, I know it did. Bless.

I've heard far, far worse at hundreds of matches. The only sanctions they give out for chants are for racist/homophobic ones.

Did "oh SISU we love you" fall into that category?

I don't bloody well think so.

If they can't see why United fans were pissed off by going all the way to Coventry just to see it turn into a protest in the name of a club they don't support then they're idiots.

If the game had been abandoned I'm pretty sure the draw would have stood as a result as it was past the 70 minute mark . That's 2 points dropped because of a protest that has nothing to do with our club. Whatever sympathy you may have with Coventry fans you can't get away from the fact their protest today effected another club. They didn't give a shit about the United fans, the money they had paid to watch the game or the impact it could have on our club on the field in terms of points. It was all about them getting their point across on TV and fuck everybody else.

All they got against them were a few sarcastic chants. Boo hoo

Think the self righteous Coventry fans have lost the plot
Its amazing how they think they are special. What about Bury or Oldham? Etc.

We've been in this crap league for 6 years and still pull 19,000 every season.

That's what you call real support
But I suppose what do you expect from a rugby town.

Did our fans chant in favour of SISU?

I don't know but did that happen?

I put a pound in the bucket at Northampton the other year in support of Coventry fans trying to get their ground back. Solidarity between football fans, done in by these overseas owners, investing for potential profit and gain with no regard for fans.

I have sympathy, be it Blackpool or Charlton but tonight was too much, their actions affected the game and outcome. The league should make them play behind closed doors and this would knacker SISU as well, lost revenue etc.

Thank goodness we managed to win.

But we didn't disrupt football matches that were vital to the opposition.

Why shouldn't fans blow whistles and throw tennis balls at the opposition whenever they like? It's a rhetorical question of course, and the answer isn't different depending on whether it's a "protest" or simply a concerted attempt to gain an unfair advantage over the opposition.

Context is absolutely key though. I don't think anyone in their right mind would think tonight's protest was some sort of Trojan horse for getting an advantage over the opposition. If anything it had the entirely opposite effect.

Looks like we've made another enemy.

Good old Sheffield United, we've got the knack!

The best type of enemy too - shitter than us in every way.

Fair enough, true Ricky, but I could have written this, from a Coventry correspondent..............

"I don't get where the hate towards us comes from?

I'm sure like every other club they must have a large core of decent fans, but they were badly let down tonight by the ones singing and chanting pro Sisu stuff.

Don't they realise that football has an ongoing problem with these types of owners who have no affiliation or love of the club and digress from the very essence of what a football club is all about and what it means to its fans?

Could be them one day.

We need the world of football to be rid of the Sisu's and the owners of Charlton and Blackpool etc.

The more fans rise up as one the better.

So disappointed by them tonight. It was constant throughout the game, so not even a quick 20 second bit of a laugh or giggle.

Not impressed."

Well, I'm usually thought not to be in my right mind but I agree it wasn't intended in that way. That's small comfort though, because it could be used in that way and even if genuine protest, could have that effect. It's simply not fair and not acceptable. We can't draw moral lines here. Why shouldn't, say Millwall, use similar measures precisely to gain such an advantage.

I've no time for "fan solidarity" if it costs my team points and even promotion, I'm afraid. It was out of order and I can't condone, still less support it.

They aren't happy are they

Sad thing is their disturbances could have worked. We certainly weren't at our best.
Just imagine if they'd scored a last minute winner.
It's just the typical kind of thing that would have cost us promotion by two points and once again there'd have been fuck all we could have done about it.
This is what the stupid twats don't seem to understand

Over enthusiastic chanting at Bramall Lane is enough to get half the stadium shut down and they can pull this stunt

I think they might be in for a torrid time at Bramall Lane

I could have written this: "Bollocks. Whatever your motives you disrupted a football match that we were entitled to enjoy and which was important to our team (if not yours) and might well have adversely influenced the result to our disadvantage. Our fans were not committing a criminal offence by their chants; you were by entering onto the pitch. Fuck you."

Poor dears, what are they bothered about us for? It was their night to protest about their owners. Because we didn't cry along with them and hand them an advantage but rather occasionally took the piss, we are the devils spawn?

I would bet my house that had they got a result they would not care a jot. I saw how they behaved themselves, and they have the cheek to call us scum.

Eveyone has their own opinions. This is mine.Protest before the game, half time, final whistle who cares.Im sure there would have been a lot of sympathy from a lot of blades. To do it like that lobbing stuff on the pitch, endless fucking whistles which got more when the blades were attacking, assaulting the odd fan,u twats deserve what u get.People paid 2 watch the game not listen n watch that bollocks. And so what if chants about sisu were sung.Hate it when clubs get shafted but protest in the right way u thick twats.

We paid over £50 to go last night and I did not have to pay much to travel there (unfortunately). That's hard earned money that is contributing to keeping that creaking Cov ship afloat.
