Chaps,

Arguably as poor as us in the play-offs. Their manager not lost one. Still smarting from Peterborough last season. Rhodes in top form. Good in final 1/3rd. MacD possible another casualty. Keep it tight and set-pieces?

Some how give food poisoning to half of their team before the match that should do the trick.

Although knowing our luck doing something like that would back fire. :)

I work in Huddersfied and the vast majority of THEIR fans that I know think EXACTLY like we do.
They dont have a good record in Play off finals. Their team (apart from Rhodes) is sh1te, according to them. They dont like the style of play Grayson uses. They cant defend. Their midfield is poor. Alan Lee is a donkey (We knew that)
Apparently they were very poor in the second half last night and very nearly screwed up.
The sensible Town fans are not confident.

Having said all that as a Blade of over 40 years Im not confident either.

I'm just going to go and enjoy the day. And will continue towatch the Blades in what ever league they are in (Div 1)

Nothing between the teams really other than they've still got their star striker. They'll be just as nervous not to throw it away as we will and I reckon it'll be a similar game to Stevenage. It'll probably be a bit of class from someone, a 30 yarder that flies in as per Burnley and Crystal Palace, a set piece or a bit of luck that will swing it. Depends who's brave on the day or has the gods on their side !

We are probably on a par with them now, given we have lost our star striker. They finished a long way behind us for a reason, heir defence and midfield aren't as good as ours...(marginally mind you)

Yes but their striker is a damn site better than porter it hasnto be a 4-4-2 for me with creswell starting if his eye is better and one of his elbows hasn't fallen off

I worry they have too much firepower for us in Rhodes and Novak. I cant see him changing to 4-4-2 now after a successful 4-5-1 play off campaign in which thus far, we have not conceded.

Coped with Rhodes the last time we played the, might have been an hairy edgy game but its a good scope on how we can deal with players that are rated highly, and Novak when he came on, two clean sheets in a row with a defence and team working as a solid unit, going to be a difficult game, but just handled a very big long ball team. If the defence play like they have the last couple of games then I think we have more than enough to handle them.

See what you're saying and not being negative, but we can't discount a striekr with 40 goals this season just because we dealt with him quite well on two occasions. Also Novak put two past us at the lane. Other than their enviable strike force, I think we are the better side.

Rhodes scares the shit out of me, Novak is pretty decent too, those 2 apart though, they don't look that good. We need to focus on keeping Rhodes out of the game, if we can do that, we've got a chance.

Is it worth getting someone sent off in the first 20 minutes if it means injuring Jordan Rhodes?

Absolutely not, mate. On a practical basis, it's impossible to be sure that the suicide tackler would achieve the objective. Secondly, there are plenty of examples of Rhodes exerting no influence at all on matches this season. He's a goal scorer, and they are worth their weight in gold, but if he ain't scoring he's something of a passenger, as demonstrated in two rather significant home games in the run-in.

We should, of course, prepare for him professionally, but fear and trembling is not warranted.

I hope Huddersfield are nicely complacent about our slow, injury prone strike force.

agreed.. he tends to score in bursts on the counter attack once they've taken the lead

All we can do is hope we actually turn up in a big game for once
a GOAL WOULD BE NICE

but I reckon one more clean sheet is the paramount goal and the key to success and hope for a deflection in our favour for once

Not having seen us score in a "big"* game since Wednesday at Wembley (I think that was the last time anyway) then even that would be a step forward on recent times.

*Massive???

on success , Wednesday fans claim that their 1 league cup win since the war 72 years and counting makes them massive looks a liitle tarnished after Dalglaish got the sack for only winning 1 league cup in 18 months

the league cup
took Birmingham down last season , now rubs out an Anfield legend
