Archer's success has been playing playing off a big man, on the shoulder. At the moment he'd be playing off Mcburnie. I feel Davis is better in that role than Oli. If we'd moved on, to two wide men (inside forwards) and one down the middle Davis isn't enough of a goal threat.

He played on the shoulder. Akpom did the bruiser work on goal kicks, set pieces, link play etc albeit dropping in when open play started. Sometimes they'd launch balls to him when he was deep, a bit like a deep analysis arget man. Still think Archer needs a big un to play off so he can play off the shoulder. If he leads the line like a traditional 9 he gets lost in a sea of height and physicality imo.
