So how were we today?

You are wrong Len and spouting complete shit to cover yourself.

Once again please quote where I said Walker wasn't talented or that Ched is a wonderkid or just admit your mistake because you are making a fool of yourself by suggesting we would beat a team made up of players most of which would walk straight into our first team.

Ched himself can't even walk into our first team, Bob.
I pointed out your statements about Walker. You also said he should be replaced by Geary, a man who has barely kicked a ball for two years.
You dug your own hole son.

can you two stop arguing with len? :D

He's got unanswered questions of mine still that you are giving him an excuse to duck :D

a hah, duh, the penny has just dropped, This guy is the best ducker and diver we have on here. Does Blackwell know about him we could do with winning more pens.:D

I have no unanswered questions Foxy.
Anyone choosing to argue with me over the relative merits of Walker and Evans is on to a loser every day of the week.
The evidence is there for all to see, week in, week out.
Choosing not to see it - and hope others are equally blind - isn't going to cut it.

How many times Len answer the two below questions.

1.) Quote where I have said Ched is a wonderkid

2.) Quote where I have said Walker isn't talented.

P.S. you need to read the posts you quote. I said players, most of which would walk into our first team with or without Ched that comment still stands correct. I even gave you a list of 9 for starters so unless there are four of those you don't think would walk into our team you are onto a loser before you even begin.

Keep going Len

Bob, it's a given you must think he's a wunderkid. He's been absolutely shyte all season and you still think he's a good player. Your beliefs on Ched's abilities are fantastical, wondrous.
You also don't believe Walker's played well all season and we got a crazy fee for him because all those frailties were there to see in his handful of games last season. I'm failing to see where your belief in his talent is coming through son.

Nothing is a given you can't make assumptions and then print them as fact. If I thought Ched was a wonderkid or that Walker wasn't talented it would be on here somewhere.

Show me the quote where I said he was a wonderkid, worldbeater, finish article, brilliant forward, amazing talent either that or admit your mistake.

I believe £4 Million for a talented right back who has played 5 league games is a crazy fee. Can you name one other right back in world football who has gone for that amount of money with 5 league games behind him?
Again please quote where I have said he isn't talented.
There you go another question you can duck because you don't have the answer.

You made assumptions and tried to put words in my mouth to prove your point. You were wrong to do so.
We all get things wrong Len, especially you. Why don't you just accept it so we can all move on.

Either that or for the sanity of the rest of the forum I'll let you have the last word that you are so desperate for.
However keep in mind if you can't quote what I have asked you to do whatever you post will be irrelevant and pointless, further proving that you made it up to prove your weak arguments.

I'll leave it with you, but I think we know what your reply won't contain don't we.

Bob, all you have to do is look back at your comments on Walker and see if they back up your contention that you believe he's talented.
The frailties you believe mean he hasn't played well this season were also there last season apparently.
You also believe he should be replaced by Geary.
All your words son.
As for Chedwyn, your beliefs are so fantastical and divorced from the evidence in front of our very eyes you must believe he's a wunderkid really.
You see a bloke putting his heart and soul into it when everyone else can see a bloke unable to jump more than six inches off the ground and who's constantly on his heels instead of being on the move, anticipating.
You should always trust in the Len, son. He's knows his footy.
Though in this case, you can simply look at the way the two players actually play the game.

That will be quite a definative no then Len. I think my point has been proven and I'm done.

So then how were we today?

Hey up Bob are you Lens love child? he keeps calling you son.

I think you are being vey harsh on Peterborough Duncan. What more do you expect from a side in deep trouble at the bottom of the table? Of course they are going to look poor. I don' think they did try and overplay the ball at all - just a good effort at getting back into the game with sensible football.

I felt they were pretty good in the second half and I know it wasn't exactly serious pressure on us but they penned us back and we did hardly anything of note going forward.

I would go a bit further than that and say they made us look very uncomfortable for quite long periods of the game. They had some clear cut chances to score and the fact that they didn't probably explains why they are bottom of the division.

i can't believe anyone has the audacity to come on here moaning about walker losing the ball.. it is like the comments on cotterill.. quinn loses the ball 'every' fucking time he comes into contact with it.. don't get me started on killgallon..
i'll sum up saturday.. played ok first half seeing as henderson wasn't playing.. got a bollocking at half time for passing too much and went back to hoofball.. atmosphere evaporated taking half of the fans with it.. a few of my mates said they were hoping we'd lose saturday night.

This will really piss you off then. Alot of the regular Quinn moaners round us thought he was man of the match and meant it, it was said through cleanched teeth.

Audacity?

The reason it was brought up was because Ched was getting pelters while the same poster was saying how well Walker played. Therefore it was pointed out Walker hasn't been playing that well all season, no mention of who else didn't play well Saturday.

At least read the posts if you are going to put on your sanctimonious hat.

For me Walker still has things to learn, and I've blamed him for a few of the goals we've conceded this season. But his potential is absolutely fantastic. He has got all the right attributes, and can be a world class right back if he wants to, and if he's coached and managed right. I will be very surprised if he hasn't played for England within a couple of seasons.

Hey up Flatulent Bob have you noticed that Lenners has gone missing. He's got found out you know as a few are expressing concern about Walker not just the one.
He's the type of guy who will deny the holocaust you know.
I'm pretty much with Bergens view, although may just doubt the couple of years for England, maybe a bit longer than that.

I think Walker needs to realised his games isn't complete and that he still has lots to learn.

This does seem to be a bit of a trend with the young players Spurs seem to sign up that they think they have made it and drop off for a season or two after they join. It could be the mentality of the young British players but it does seem to be more obvious at Spurs than elsewhere. Lennon, Huddlestone, Bale, Bentley, Jenas, Gunter all joined and went under the radar for a couple of seasons. Some came back, some didn't but all of them has a serious dip shortly after joining. It has taken Lennon 3-4 years to get back to where he should of been 2 years ago.
This was part of the reason I wanted the Kyles to go to Everton.

This is why we I think wages depending we ought to be looking at some of these youngsters who aren't making the grade like Bale. Dropping back down might return some of that hunger to make them top players. Maybe we can't afford the wages or they simply won't come but the penny has to drop sooner or later that they aren't playing and they need to be.

looking at the squad as a whole rather than singling out one or two players:
Bunn - Not much to do apart from the penalty save, thought he'd let a cross go over his head in the first half.
Walker - Agree with Bergen, massive potential but! He does sometimes try to do too much and loses the ball in possession, did it a few times Saturday didn't cost us a goal inlike against Newcastle.
Killa - Not his best game and had to keep hitting it long because Quinn wasn't available wide for him often enough.
Davies - Rash lunge for the penalty and does worry me, not a good replacement for when Killa goes.
Morgs - Steady as ever hardly put a foot wrong.
Wardy - Quick and lively had a decent game.
Williamson - Tried to get the ball and pass, tired noticeably in the second half and probably let Posh get more into the game because of that.
Harper - Better first half than second probably down to Williamson running out of steam alongside him
Quinn - How many times did he touch the ball in the first half? Probably why we played better in first half.
Evans - Worked hard in patches, never won a header but should that be his game? Was to often caught reacting rather than being proactive about getting in the right areas. Was unlucky with the movement and shot from the corner needs to show that level of movement more often
Camara - looked particularly sharp in the first half, deserved his goal. Another that showed a lack of match fitness in the second half.

Agree witha lot of what others have said about it being a game of two halves, I think a lot of that was down to the match fitness of Williamson and Camara in particular and to lesser extent Ward. First half when everyone was fit we controlled the game perhaps that should be the positive we take from the game.

Perfect summary for me. Quinn was hardly involved - shocked people thought he played well. Why he was on the left when we had two left wingers on the bench is beyond me. Maybe it was because we didn't have Jordan Stewart available.

I'm a big Killa fan, but he was poor on Saturday. Shocking passing constantly. The rest did fine or were good. Ward MotM for me and one of the few bright spots this season thus far.

Same thing said by someone else on Saturday. Power, pace, can play - it's all there for him to make the full England set-up.
Unless Dazzler knows otherwise, I reckon he'd be the first Sharrow lad to make it as an international.

Most people have agreed that Walker has possibly got a bright future, but at least 6 in this thread think he is also making quite a few mistakes.YOU ARE IN CONSTANT DENIAL ABOUT HIS MISTAKES SO THATS AT LEAST 6 TO 1:D COME ON LENNERS ADMIT YOUR WRONG.

Boo, I see our best player in Walker, you don't. Spurs rate him and England rate him.
I and others see a player capable of playing for the full national side in the future - I can't say that about anyone else in our team.
I see those things because I see what he brings to the team and the ability he has.
I do not see a player who is making 'quite a few mistakes' or should be dropped in favour of Geary.
I'm happy my opinion corresponds with the England bods and Harry Redknapp, who seems a decent judge of a footballer.
Every person on this site could say Walker should be dropped in favour of Geary but I'd still be right.

Geary at right back. Walker on the right wing. Ward on the left.

Bosh.

I do not see a player who is making 'quite a few mistakes' .

And there is the denial at odds with most.
I suppose we'll have to admit were all wrong.

But you really do need to go to specsavers:p

Sorry, not seeing quite a few mistakes or a player who should be dropped for Geary.
Seeing a player good enough to be called up for the u-21s - mebbes their eyesight's at fault n'all.

You are loving him aren't you

Yup, think he's a top player and it was great we actually had both him and KN genuinely come through our youth set-up.
Very sad we sold them as soon as we could - and to the wrong team in my opinion - and disappointed that the familiar problems with our academy have immediately re-surfaced.

Lenners - for what it's worth I am totally with you on this one. I realise that will mean alot to those involved in this string!

Seeing those 2 in tandem for just a few games last term will live long in the memory. I think Walker has cost us a goal at Coventry (from CB) and sloppy against Newcastle followed by very bad luck. He's created the goal on Saturday with a great ball and won a penalty at Barnsley. Maybe there are others in both categories but he is some player for a 19 year old right back.
