There have been numerous articles and comment during the Princes five years with the Club, including his own statements, that would suggest he is in the millionaire category. In fact consensus seems to put him at around the same level of personal wealth as Kevin McCabe in the £1.4 million band.

When the Prince first came on Board it was announced he would be funding transfers and a flurry happened with the signings of Baxter and Cuvelier. The message seemed to be that the Blades would be going for promotion in the first year and then consolidate in the championship for a few years with the aim of Premiership in 5 years. Statements from KM implied that the Prince's investment would increase significantly when we were promoted to the championship and then again incrementally when we got to the Premiership. No-one envisaged being in Division 1 for the next four years.

What has happened is the investment in the team has been virtually swallowed up by having to manage trading losses as a result of remaining in the third tier. KM has matched that investment but we now appear to be at a cross roads where either or both of the parties are having second thoughts about continuing on the same financial basis.

If the Prince was a billionaire then I doubt there would be the prevaricating that is going on the moment. It seems we have two millionaires at odds with each other and without the funds to take the Club further on their own. In other words a stalemate and that is what has caused CW to express his concerns.

You may well be right. Unfortunately, due to some of the 'grey areas' you've identified we may well have reached a point where either side are entrenched in their own version/interpretation of their agreement. Assuming your description has a semblance of truth, it's peculiar that a contingency wasn't built into this agreement allowing for an extended stay in Division 1, or even relegation to Division 2, to possibly happen. However, it seems that there was an expectation that an immediate return to the Championship was to happen. If so, a tad naive in my book, as planning for a variety of eventualities would have made sense.

So, we have two owners, both with strong character, and at least one of whom has been reluctant to communicate with the supporters. Silence in this case seems to have given rise to suspicion about intentions. Not surprising in my view, but I'm surprised that in all of this it's not been obvious that communicating transparently would be viewed as a positive. As things stand, all that remains is silence. We, the supporters that is, are none the wiser, and all the while we have the appearance of our manager (remember him, you know, the guy who took us to the Championship at the first attempt?) contemplating his future because our owners seem to consider silence as their preferred option. Madness in my book, but capable ownership can be a rare thing in professional football and we appear to have two people who consider that doing the least, in terms of communicating regularly, to be their best option.
