GARY Megson describes his scathing criticism of some of his players at Exeter as possibly the most “negative” interview he has ever given.

The Owls manager makes no apologies for telling how he saw it, and he is looking for a response from the team tonight.

“Some people say you should be positive, you shouldn’t say those things, but I can’t be like that,” he says.

“I’ve always said what I think. I can’t be like these politicians and find any shining light.

“I listen to some managers, especially in the Premier League, in all sorts of trouble and talking about a great corner they have won after four minutes, when they’ve been beaten.

Megson expects stiff resistance from Stevenage: “They’ve had a terrific season so far. They gave us a real good hiding (5-1). That was a bit of a watershed for us; from that point we were fantastic.

“Some of the things we are doing at the moment aren’t what I would have expected five or six weeks ago. We need to keep moving forward.

Topped my evening off last night having got within range of Rad Sheff when the Ginner was interviewed.
