Watched the Preston v Oldam game last night excellent advert for league 1

Oldham had most of the posestion and probably should heve won the game.

Point I'm making is there's a club who's sold their best players but Lee Johnson has formulated a side playing a passing game but getting the ball out wide and hitting the box, full backs getting forward etc but the main thing everything is up tempo.
Oldam will only at best be mid table but on our showings this even sides like them will walk all over us.

The key two words there are 'up tempo'. At the moment, we seem to think that we're some sort of Brazilian league side playing for a 0-0 draw in 30 degree heat. Nowt wrong wi the passing game if you actually try and pass it forward with pace every so often.

Exactly. I remember one year we played Port Vale at home. We were going for promotion, they were struggling at the bottom. They absolutely battered us, but somehow we won. Anything can happen in a one off game. Plus it's no good playing well, but losing. The good teams play crap but win.

Are we really playing well- at all?

At Rotherham the consensus appeared to be that they gave us too much respect in the first half and allowed us to play. Whilst we did play as allowed we did not exploit this position anywhere near as ruthlessly as it should have been.
In the second half they pressed, bossed us and we crumbled. Heads dropped and we never looked like getting back into it. Even at 3 down and 5 mins to go we were content to piss about at the back and not threaten their half (never mind their goal).

At Scunny we never mustered a shot on goal. Nothing for the strikers to feed off. Plenty of sideways in our own defensive third but absolutely nothing further up the pitch. If Scunny had been more aggressive and in our faces they might have nicked one - certainly they had a few chances - in which case we would never have responded with an equaliser.

Not sure where the next goal is going to come from. Baxter may conjour something out of nothing like he did at the weekend but it looks to be an isolated incident in an incident free performance.

Well no, we're not. I meant the other teams who play well but lose. We're playing crap and losing. We're slower than an arthritic tortoise in the desert.

Well HRH said Mr Weir was one of the reason he's bought in, so he can talk the talk, now let's see him walk the walk....
