Apologies if something similar has been asked before but I couldn't find any posts on this...

Does anybody know if there is a schedule where Sky will announce fixtures for televised games?

I know not all on here are fans with them televising games/moving fixtures etc but unfortunately for me, it's the only way for me to watch us semi-regularly.

The main reason I am asking is I am coming up for the second Steel City Derby, currently scheduled for midday on Saturday 13th January. As you probably know, train tickets are announced ~12 weeks in advance so I am wanting to book them ASAP but not really up for wasting a sh*t-load of money on a train ticket because Sky/SYP fancy playing silly buggers and moving in to a 16:37 kick-off on the Thursday. Also aware Sky don't usually show reverse fixtures of already televised fixtures but if they're going to make an exception, I'd think this would be it.

I don't think there is any method or timescale to it pal, they usually announce it around 4-6 weeks before the actual game itself, so would presume we would know by early December

I doubt they will show it on a Thursday..

My guess is if it's going to be a live game anywhere between Friday night and Sunday early ko :-)

Sky will show it if we are still up around the top and S6 have something to play for(relegation), it's not true that sky won't show the reverse fixture.. it goes on what's happening to the teams in the league

Not certain, but if Sky announce a change of fixture time/day 4-6 weeks in advance, wouldn't you be able to cancel or re-book a train journey?

18th Nov-9th Dec Decision by Sep 29th. Bristol City was moved AFTER this date, so be warned.

16th Dec-13th Jan Decision by Nov 3rd

20th Jan-Feb 3rd Decision by Dec 8th

10th Feb-March 3rd Decision by Dec 29th

March 10th-March 31st Decision by Jan 19th.

Taken from the EFL website, I printed it off so I could plan round any fixture changes, the Bristol switch fucked those plans straight away!

I'd book a hotel and set off Friday morning and book your return for Sunday night, this way you stand a chance of being here when the game is played. Don't forget, it's not just Sky that's likely to bugger you around but plod will have to have their say as well.

Nice one Treeton - thanks for that. Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for but couldn't find it. Won't take it as gospel but good to know we should know within the next week or two.

The agreement I read was no sooner than 5 weeks notice to move the game. Bristol City game still not showing on Sky's list though !
