Hi,

I think our game vs Brum next Wednesday can be viewed via the Sky red button, as per the case of our loss to Boro.

Does anyone know if you can record red button games? Or pause the coverage? I train a u12’s footy team on Wednesday nights and won’t get in until 9pm.

I don’t see any reason why not, but I do know that these red button games are still unavailable if you have Sky Sports through Now TV

They can't be recorded or viewed in a Sky+ format (i.e. paused, rewinded etc) as they are essentially live streams.

Glad this was the case for the Boro match like, nothing was worth viewing again from that game

No you can't record or pause or rewind. One camera and no replays either. In SD and one commentator too.

No, you’ll have to get your Mrs to video the telly on her phone and watch it later or cancel training due to illness ;)

Thanks for the responses guys. Not sure what I’ve done, but I went to record next Wednesday’s selected Sky game - QPR vs Milwall, and then a screen came up giving me the option of recording United v Brum or any of the other Championship games that night. Blades v Brum is now scheduled to record on my Sky planner.

I’m not sure if my box is connected to the internet, so looks like Mobile Blades advice is spot on. UTB. Thank you!

That’s how it has always worked with RB choices before, from when we’re in the Prem with Match Choice and the NFL when Red Zone was on the RB. It’s just done the same for me, allowing me to choose TRAWWs when selecting QPR v Millwall and my Sky Box has a wireless broadband box attached to it.

Doesn't give me the option of recording the United match when I record the QPR/Millwall game (I've only got a Sky+HD box).

Apologies if this has been covered but why are we playing Tuesday nights? Is it connected to the Sky coverage ?

No idea, can't be for TV coverage cause they can show the Tuesday night games aswell can't they? Just had a look and we've got 5 matches on a Wednesday night.

What I can’t understand is why it’s is SD through the red button but HD through the Sky Sports App.

They don't have any HD red button channels, presumably as it'd cost a lot of money to have HD channels sitting empty most of the time. With the app and streaming it through Sky Q it doesn't need satellite space so that can be in HD with no issuees.

Each team has to have the same number of games on Tuesday or Wednesday over the season so the spread of red button matches is even on both days rather than most teams playing on Tuesday like they normally have. As a stupid side-effect, it means if a game is moved to Friday after a Wednesday game or Sunday before a Tuesday game, the midweek game will swap days, but another midweek game will also have to swap days to even it up, or something like our Boro game happens where the game was moved to a completely different week.

You mean Wednesday nights?

Yes it’s so Sky can spread the red button coverage over 2 nights. 2 other games have already been moved from Tuesday to Wednesday

You can’t pause, rewind or record and the quality is SD at best so it looks a bit washed out on a bigger screen. There weren’t any action replays either in the games that I watched although that could change.

Eh? Please see posts above where some of us were given the option of recording our match when pressing record on the main one.

It certanly wasn’t available to me for the Boro game but I’m still on Sky+.

I’ve just found out that Sky can enable or disable red zone recording individually by account so maybe it depends on whether or not the user has upgraded to Q or on their S+ package?

I’ve also discovered that Sky Q customers can view it in HD so there’s already a variance there. It’d be classic Sky to use this as a promotional opportunity rather than improved customer service, but I will check it out again on my box at the next opportunity.

No idea fella - on HD+ here too but as I said, with a wireless internet box attached.

Sky don't even show replays of goals that have just been scored for the red-button games, unfortunately.

I have Sky Q but not sports. Can I buy a 1 day pass for Noe TV and use red button for Blackburn game on W'day?
