Games being postponed, training grounds being closed, a high rate of cases per head than any local authority is seeing... Something obviously isn't working - perhaps 22 people running around in close contact and breathing heavily isn't the safest idea.

There's a moral argument as well. Why should it continue when people are having to close their perfectly safe shops, pubs, restaurants? Why should it continue when children can't go to school and parents are having to juggle work and home schooling? Why should footballers get preferential treatment and unlimited access to tests?

Do you realise how much it would cost the Government to both furlough footballers, as well as lose out on the tax from their salaries?
If you're going down the 'Morality' route, then 'Morally' the Government should pay their salaries through furlough too.

It's amazing really, all those in society that have been screaming about 'Tory Austerity', are absolutely desperate to shut everything down, ensuring record public spending cuts and tax increases for the next generations.
And now, people who have been constantly crying about Billionaires not paying their way, are now wanting the Governement, and therefore the average tax payer, to pay the employees of these Billionaires.

That's not how society works, although i'm aware modern snowflake phenomena makes it appear that way.
There needs to be evidence that it is more dangerous for the Government to stand up and take action.

Otherwise every time 'there is a bug going around', the country would get put on lockdown.....That doesn't happen.
Not yet buy my guess is it's coming.

The government have already spent trillions it's amazing how they can shut business down and find money to keep everyone sweet

Furlough is capped at a salary of £2.5k per month. Next...

You missed the whole point.
Your whole point was based on footballers continuing to play, in order to keep their higher rates of tax flowing into the Treasury, which as I’ve explained, is a moot point.

In my prior post, I suggested it was unfair that businesses such as those in hospitality and retail, who’d been forced to close numerous times over the past 10 months, could have cause for complaint with football continuing. All pay far more in taxes than combined, all require greater assistance from the government whilst closed. Why does football get special dispensation?
