That's not how society works, although i'm aware modern snowflake phenomena makes it appear that way.
There needs to be evidence that it is more dangerous for the Government to stand up and take action.

Otherwise every time 'there is a bug going around', the country would get put on lockdown.....That doesn't happen.

I’d agree but clubs don’t have a responsibility to provide a safe environment for players to have sex in they don’t have a responsibility to maintain a safe working environment.

They are fortunate enough to be able to have far bigger bubbles than anyone else, whilst also being ensured their families are safer than any other because of the amount of testing they get.

There are people out there on minimum wage jobs, in bubbles containing virtually no one, with no availability of tests unless they show symptoms.


These 'Poor footballers', earning thousands of pounds a week in the safest and most tested work environment bubble in the country.
Whilst the rest of the country are forced to stay indoors, see nobody outside their household and increase their chances of developing mental health issues.

I haven’t said poor footballers or that they have it worse than anyone else. But if there is an outbreak within their workplace that cannot be contained by social distancing measures then that work place will have to be temporarily closed because it isn’t safe just like any other unsafe workplace should be. Hence Wednesday and other clubs temporarily closing their training facilities.

There's not going to be a void, as there's literally no argument to void it, with the exception of the fact that it would be beneficial to certain sides.

There's been no delay, no cancelling of other competitions, no reworking of the fixtures etc etc.



There shouldn't even be a break, as long as the players stick to the rules, given the country is now in full lockdown, they won't contribute to an increased number of deaths.

They have allowed Elite sport to continue so people have something to watch and a bit of entertainment during lockdown to try and make lockdown a bit more bearable than last time.
They have rigorous testing in Elite sport payed for by the sport.

There's not going to be a void, as there's literally no argument to void it...

Games being postponed, training grounds being closed, a high rate of cases per head than any local authority is seeing... Something obviously isn't working - perhaps 22 people running around in close contact and breathing heavily isn't the safest idea.

There's a moral argument as well. Why should it continue when people are having to close their perfectly safe shops, pubs, restaurants? Why should it continue when children can't go to school and parents are having to juggle work and home schooling? Why should footballers get preferential treatment and unlimited access to tests?

I agree 100% it is soulless (I'm missing gerit forward man on the kop) but for me its better than nothing and gives me something to look forward too.
I still get frustrated when Norwood knocks a ball into an area where there is no Blades player within 20 yards (Other Blades players are also guilty of this).
If we knew for certain that this would all be over in the summer and we could all go back to BDTBL then I would agree stop it now and wait but unfortunately that's not going too happen.

I am surprised that the PFA have not asked for games to be postponed. Given that football involves being able to run about for long periods of time (insert Mousset joke here), the long term effects of covid could be drastic.
