does anyone know who the commentator was last night on the sky red button? it took him about 5 minutes to realise that Madine had been sent off. He kept going on about an unjust yellow card when it was clearly a red that had been brandished. Even if he was colour blind, the sight of Madine walking down the tunnel with his hands on his head should have been a clue that something was amiss. Finally, minutes after Madine had left the pitch he apologetically said, "I think that Gary Madine has been sent off". i don't know if someone had had a word or if he had spent that time wondering why we only had one upfront and had performed a headcount. How can these people not do the one job they are paid to do. Is he after Chris Kamaras job?

He was absolutely shit. Kept getting things wrong and using the phrase “I think”. The red card was erm red. Even that imbecile Sue Smith would have commentated better.

End of the day, he's on the red button. The commentators equivalent of being sucked off aggressively after you've already bolted.

Yep as Hodgesleftpeg says, the red button commentaries often aren't at the ground but will be at Sky HQ.

How else do you think they get Tony Gale to co-commentate? I think that bloke lived north of the Watford Gap for about a year in the mid nineties, before going back south and never returning.

QPR v Rotherham game commentary tonight. Last minute headed winner for millers and the commentator says they’ve scored with the last kick!!

True that

I think it was this guy, he tripped over Wilder when trying to interview him.

If you think that was bad I remember watching snooker on a black & white set, when we played the pigs & both wore stripes, with the picture so poor I couldn't tell which team was ours.

Leeds were on the red button but had a co commentator, several cameras and replays, what’s that all about ?

We had multiple cameras (obviously because I could see them with my own eyes) but upon watching the highlights their angles are only on the Sky highlights and not the YouTube ones.

Sky are on their arse.

They sponsor the league and have exclusive rights to it and this is what you get.

And having to wait for the telly to warm up.

And waiting for the repair man from Radio Rentals to come round and put a new valve in it when the screen went pop at a vital moment :(
Yes young uns, they repaired tellys back in the day

Even Blades make mistakes. Kevin Gage was in for Edwards on the commentary for Radio Sheffield yesterday and had a spell trying to work out who else Wilder could bring on to affect the game (with Cranie, McGoldrick and Sharp all already on the pitch). There was a long pause after that, presumably as the main commentator was wondering whether to correct Gage (he didn’t). Probably not a mistake Edwards would have made, but Gage is by far the more insightful.
