Forgive me if someone already asked this, but I haven't bothered reading any speculation threads....

How does Alexander Blessin possibly meet the GBE requirements to be able to manage a team in England?

Go and read the speculation threads, its all there, assuming you’ve got nothing else planned for the day? 😉

I'd sooner not trawl that. Can't you just say in one sentence? It would probably have taken less effort than to have written what you just did
Basically he needs to hold a UEFA professional licence, applicant club not have an existing manager and has managed at a club at a top league or international team for a prescribe time.

This article covers it: key quote beneath:

In order to receive the necessary GBE, or Governing Body Endorsement, anyone wishing to now take charge of an English top-flight club must have been working in a “Top League” for two consecutive years or three of the previous five. Those tasked with considering applications for a GBE also use a points tally, reflecting the standard of the competitions the individuals concerned are or have been employed in, to judge their suitability.

I presume that Blessin does have a UEFA professional licence?

I believe he has got one, you need a UEFA professional licence to manage a club in the top division of any European nation.
That's good to know, it's probably all to do with the lack of two years then. I think United will have a decent chance of an appeal based on his first season with Oostende and his background with Leipzig.

As I understood it you have to have managed (not just "been working") in a top league for at least two years. By my understanding he doesn't qualify.

There really is a very long thread about this. Effectively he doesn't qualify and would need to go to a panel to appeal it, but that panel (at this moment in time) doesn't exist.

He's a mate of Matt Hancock's and he's promised him a share deal for his sister and his mother. You can't say fairer than that.

I'd rather we appoint Brian Blessed. Can you imagine his team talks?!

Talk about motivational, there'd be none of this seasons abject poncery.

Now there's a man who would tell Lundstram to fuck off!
