Sitting or standing

All advertisments are hidden for logged in members, why not log in/register?

I think I got the thread title wrong.

My query was really "do we have the right to stand if the person behind is incapable of standing ( because of age/disability etc)".


I suppose it's not that straightforward. If the ground regulations say you shouldn't stand, then no you don't have the right, but in a ground where stewards turn a blind eye and everybody is standing, you still don't have the right but you have a personal choice to make.

The bloke behind you has a right to see the game he has paid for too, but taking a pragmatic view he might feel it wise to move to the sides of the stand to find a more suitable view (if he can find a seat). He might not though.

Stood at 'back ot kop' for as long as I can remember. It's against ground regulations but tolerated by our lovely stewards.

Of course, installing convertable rail seats would make standing perfectly safe but that's far too forward-thinking for English football to allow.
