Don't get me wrong as that's only a portion of the interview but comes across as very much like " hey don't forget about me I'm still out here and available" with one of the only serious questions Wilder going on about what he would bring to another club.

Would he do these interviews if already had a job.. highly doubtful.

Feel like he's trying hard not to become the forgotten man imho.

I’d take him back right now. Tin hat on. Joking, not joking.

Where’s all the money gone! 😰 I’m sure Slav will get it right, but I do miss happy Wilder

I think he'd have given us a much better chance of bouncing straight back up. But keeping him didn't seem to be an option.

Also, he's right. Fulham are going to walk the division. And we will be nowhere to be seen.

Hang on, Wilder would have given us a better chance of going straight back up but the squad he built leaves us "nowhere to be seen"? Not sure I follow.

I agree about Fulham, WBA and Bournemouth, but don’t assume that we will not be pushing for the other three play off spaces.

I think the Wilder debate has been done over that many times. It’s people’s opinions, my opinion is he fully screwed up his last season and hurt his legacy with the signings/ interviews / public ownership fall out.

But when Wilder was good and motivated I wouldn’t choose any other man to be in charge of my football club.

Knows the players, better chance of hitting the ground running. Probably a better understanding of the market & what was needed, the strengths / weaknesses of the squad. Better motivator.

You could argue that a rot had set in and something needed to change. Possibly right. Buy my opinion is that we'd have had a better shot this season with Wilder at the helm.

But he didn't want to be at the helm did he? somet about a leaky roof and not being backed was what I read on here. Not being backed/having more money than any other manager has ever had at United both in his wage slip and to blow on very very average players.

Baso Brewster was chucked in at the deep end and will come good eventually

I read that as he chucked him under the bus. Is he actually being complimentary about him saying he was chucked in when he shouldn't have been?

Not sure i agree TBH. A £23m players should be ready to play.

I'll watch this later

Can Sheffield United spend £23 million pounds on a player and tag him as one for the future? Surely we should have been buying players for the here and now.

Simple answer is no. Outside of the big 4 or 5, I doubt any club could afford to spend that kind of money on any player who is 'one for the future'.

I'd certainly be pointing the finger of blame at the person who thought that was the case for our current plight.

Mate, thats like saying would you go on a dating app if you were happily married?

He needs a job, he's getting his name and face out there again. Although he might not have to do so if he hadn't slipped out the back door as he promised he never would

I’m almost in complete agreement with ya there Millhouse , add his stubbornness with his refusal to change tactics / players
His reputation has been diminished/ tarnished in my eyes as a result

It's the first time in his career he consistently struggled to get performances and results from a team of his. Instead of owning it, he spat the dummy out and blamed our predicament on anything and anyone but himself and then slipped out the back door when he finally gave up

Problem is no matter how good he was bringing us out of League 1 people always remember the negative and first thing in Owners minds will be he was involved in one of the worst PL teams in history. So yeah he might get you upto the PL but he cant keep you there.

Didsy let slip in an interview that the players needed to hear a new voice when Wilder left. Maybe things had got a bit stale and would have got worse had Wilder stayed? We did start seeing better performances when Hecky took charge.
