Singing/Ultra's Section

Fucking singing section? Get a fucking grip. Best thing we could do is have a feighting section because nowt gets the fans going more than a good old fashioned scrap. If it kicks off on the pitch, volume goes up and if it starts in the stand, same again.

Maybe have an area where the singers can go, all dressed the same, with a conductor and all that shit and another area for the scrappers, and if the singers are getting on everybody's tits, open the gates and let the fighting section have the fuckers off.

Have noticed more and more and more that clubs are organising sections of the ground for fans to create an atmosphere Crystal palace been the most well known but plenty of other teams are doing it such as Huddersfield and Bristol I think

Been totally honest the atmosphere at the lane bar about 2 games has been akin to a library IMO

With no news on rail seating been introduced when plenty of other clubs already have or have announced plans to do so the atmosphere shows no sign of improving IMO

This isn't a problem at the lane the majority of grounds now resemble a library

Would there be an appetite for it ? we could be called the Bramall lane Ultras for example
Fucks sake, what's wrong with it being like a library? Next, some gobby fucker will be nudging me awake with their cardboard clacker to sing Dale Winton, or whatever it's called. Get a grip man and go back to sleep..

Dont think Bramall Lane is necessarily that conducive to a singing section. The closest thing we have is the top corner of the kop and although they do their best, the noise doesnt exactly travel that well.

It cant move further down either cause the siddarn brigade wont like that.

The family stand is…..well for families so unless we’re changing the words to “shoreham boys we are here catching your pokemon and eating your coco pops” then thats a non starter.

The best place is probably G and H block which gets a song or two going now and again and if there was anywhere that was going to be ‘organised’ that might be the best place. Although given its proximity to the away fans, SYP will put a stop to it before its even got going.

Anyone like that version of the Shoreham Boys song better than the original? No, neither do I. 🤗

Some interventions yeah….. but calling them Ultras…..ffs no! It’s just cringe.

I’d like to see more of the stuff we did at the home ply off semi, plus lots of free flags, the club could also designate an area with no seat numbers so friends could sit together etc.

Jeeez do we really want to become like those piggy twats in S6 with that ferking drum and trumpet. No for me.

Bring back Tony Agana, he plays the Saxophone (proper instrument) which is why I think the streaker picked on him.

"We were on benches pitch-side and she (a slim, but well endowed, topless blonde) came running on and we were all laughing. Someone went "She's running this way!" and I said "Yes she is...err. Yes she is!" and then she jumped on me, planted a kiss and ran off. She was a lovely girl and she did apologise. Post-match a call came into the bar and a shout comes over, “Tony there's a call for you” and I am thinking who is this? Anyway, it was the streaker and she said that she wanted to apologise for any embarrassment she had caused me.”

Not aimed at anyone in particular but if this cap fits then wear it.

Fan A Couldn’t get my seat for the PO SF. Fucking disgusting l’ve had it for years.

Also fan A - let’s move some of the sad bastards behind the Kop goal somewhere else. Non singers who are probably that anal they acted quickly and got their own seat for the POSF

Get it sorted Bettis. I just can’t get enough. Doo wah diddy, l saw three ships come sailing in, theme from Eastenders etc etc etc

If you don’t sing you get ejected to the family stand

FACTS

If the game is eventful and entertaining then that sets the atmosphere in the stands, cheering for nothing to create false sense of occasion, bit plastic mate.

What you're suggesting is a stand full of tangos, wank pig brass band types and tattooed South Coast bellringers in stupid hats who all set out to get attention from TV cameras rather than watch the game, I don't want any part of that for our club.

Let the teams on the pitch dictate the atmosphere weather negative or positive, let the players set the stage not the audience, nobody pays to see what the crowd are doing, except at Swillsboro 😂

I’m not sure where you got the idea of tango and bell ringers that’s something you have thought up

I would have thought there is plenty who would like to create an atmosphere at the match but don’t because the majority of them sat nearby aren’t or won’t

Let the team dictate the atmosphere ? We will end up like reading we weren’t that far off last year

You’re not wrong the highlight of many people season was spider man throwing 15 punches while dangling in mid air at the forest fans

Atmosphere has gradually declined across football, not just at the lane.
I admire clubs who have fans that try to improve it. Palace fans do a great job, and last season I was surprised and impressed by quite a few clubs. Blackpool for example. They were superb when we visited. Our fans as usual waiting for the team to do summat before actually showing some support and encouragement.

Blackpool we’re great remember them being in the away end about 1 hour before the game

God forbid we do anything like that

Anyone who tried the standing section at Cardiff may know it was Chav/coke/awful/won’t be here in 5 years/knobhead hell.

I’m a huge fan of standing but when some TOWIE cheap a like bird says I’m coked off my tits where’s the bar here? You suddenly realise it’s not a good place to hang out. Especially when a row that should hold 30 is holding 50 you decide it’s time to wait til the experiment is propety sorted.

As with a lot of things away day now cocaine has a lot to answer for…

Atmosphere around the ground never recovered after G and H got shut down - the few years before that proved you don't need drums, trumpets or ultras to create an atmosphere.
Between the club and SYP there was a heck of a reaction and it led to the sanitisation of the match day experience at the Lane whereas some clubs never had that. The daft kick off days and times insisted on by the police for any match that may have an atmosphere don't help.
G and H in full swing was a sight and sound to behold and it rubbed off on the rest of the ground.
Revive G & H (perhaps without the outright violence and you're going to get your...heads kicked in chants) and we'll be fine

What ? To be as embarrassing as that lot at the sty ?

I was at Cardiff, at the back standing. Don’t recognise that description at all. In fact I’d say it was quite a calm atmosphere. I’m 68, nearly dead, socially conservative, ( so I thought), but no idea what you’re talking about

What a comment that is! Exactly this!

It's much better to sit in total silence every week whilst we mock fans of other teams for actually organising something and vastly improving the atmosphere in the stadium.

As long as we're 4-0 up in the first 20 minutes, dominating the match, playing against local rivals with a big away following and all absolutely bladdered, then the atmosphere will take care of itself. It's that simple.
When the team are not performing well

Remember that so well, had some of the old kop roof been removed by then?

BLUT used to be unreserved seating.

Also remember a lot of away games was unreserved.

Problem these days is accountability. If you have unreserved seating you can't track pitch invaders, flare throwers etc. Allocating seats is just a control mechanism and should be gotten rid of.

If its going to happen then do it on the blut ...... give all us on the kop a good laff
