Its about time we got a singing section, back 4/5 rows of Kop already make decent noise so maybe have it there.
The Lane can be a cauldron of noisem at times but we need to make it one?

Now Im worried. BB has just posted about the seventies without tubing limmie and the family cooking. Get well soon mate.

rev up the Capri lets gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...........

Morris Marina, Austin Allegro,AustinPrincess,Maxi..........and wowee Triumph Dolomite Sprint :D

I was many miles away in East Africa in 1973. Very few BL products available there, fortunately. I had just traded in a Lotus Cortina Mk 2 twin-cam for an Alfa Giulia TI, with a Fiat 850 Coupe as a second car for the missus. I also acquired a shed of a Mini Estate and rebuilt it. It was handy for taking the dogs out.

Happy days.

Yeah, it would be great. "Sack the Board" at full volume.

Could the admin do a list of annually renewing threads. I recon this would be in there with Design your own Kit.

The last singing section thread got closed after 15 pages due to an invasion of people who refused to read or stop labeling and abusing people :)

Bring back safe standing - then you will get a singing section

Seats are for women and old farts
.....and even some of us old farts prefer to stand at matches

Always fancied a Sprint when I was 16!
kid at our school (nutcase.. total legend) got caught in a stolen car.. the rumour is that the first thing he said on capture was 'you'd have never caught me in a dolomite sprint' :D

ps he was the same one who ran on against leicester in the relegation game..

Safe standing is actually the answer to this little conundrum
Such a section should be in the kop at the back but centrally located
A section which is allocated for people who want to gather, stand and shout their hearts out for the lads.
If there is a section that kicks this off the rest of the crowd will undoubtedly follow.

The problem with the current all seater situation is that you can't assemble groups of people together very easily (one of the reasons it was brought in, in the first place) but that destroys any chance of an atmosphere being built.

Not everyone can get to all games but it would be great to have a place to congregate and sing whenever you can make it. Maybe even Metal will come and join in if that's the case :D .

Then there should be another scetion entirely for beightonblade - but that's another story

Are people going to stop drinking beer before a match then? I don't think they will. That is why you can't have standing sections, regardless if it's safe or not.

Anyhow, I thought the signing section was the kop? Once they start, rest of the ground usually joins in. As long as the team gives us something to sign about, the fans will always sign.

Would love to, at present though I would definitely need a seat.

I don't quite follow this argument?

From working as a steward at Bramall lane during my university years, it was clear the main issue with fan safety was through drinking. The amount of issues that arose (and prob still does) because someone had a drink was much more than someone who hadn't. Anyhow, since fans like to have a drink before the match, I was suggesting that would you give up drinking beer just to go in a all standing section? I don't think the majority will which is why standing sections shouldn't be allowed.

What about those of us who have to drive 200 miles round trip - can't have a drink but want to stand?
I'll bet there are loads of people who prefer to have a beer after the match as well.
Solution is the same for those seated - if they have over imbibed then press eject - the standing element is irrelevant.

The friends i made standing on the kop in the early days have stayed with me all me life ........the camaraderie was unbeatable.

Made for a reight atmosphere as well.
