Well, wether you keep Moore this season or not, his contract expires next year and he's not gonna sign a new one if he's not the first keeper. So that's a problem we're going to have anyway.

If you sell Moore you might even have budget to pick up a talented youngster on a permanent deal for next year.
 

If we were starting the season with Moore as first choice plenty would be unhappy. May as well cash in while he’s worth something.

Who says we don’t have already? Eastwood seems to be highly rated and Dewhurst is the England U17 keeper. Seems to be a good succession line.

Yeah don't knw much about the youth from United yet. But going to watch lots of them while I'm in Sheffield. But if that's the case, the sale of Moore this summer would be even better.
 
Even though i dont really rate him at shot stopping and every so often think 'i could have got to that bleeder', i dont want him to go! A keeper is an important part of the spine of the team for me and hes a familiar face who commands his box and is quite vocal!

Good point about contract. I’d not taken that into consideration and I don’t see him signing a new one either

Wilder has faith in Eastwood and we loan another if they both injured.
Maximise the fee for Moore who is in the last year of his contract and put the fee and wages to better use, in addition we have a good production line of young keepers at the Lane and this frees up room for them to progress.

Agree. Let SM go. Have to say that I've always had my doubts about Moore and that he was a tad overrated by some Blades fans. That said, he was a clear improvement on what had gone before (including a much younger George Long).

I'd be happy to have Long as back up this season if necessary.

I personally think that Long is a better keeper than Moore. He has all the attributes to be a top keeper. The only issue, and it;s a big issue, is confidence. I'm not convinced, given the history and being horrendously treated by previous players, managers and fans, Long would be a better keeper for us.

Moore Long Blackman.
I just hope the new fella Henderson is able to put a stop to those hopeful long shots that keep sailing into our net from outside the area!
I was wondering if our keepers needed glasses for distance.
 
We’re hanging our balls out on this. The whole situation is worrying. We’re repeating previous mistakes. Losing experienced keepers, relying on loans and our youth set up to paper over the cracks. It’s how the rot started. If Moore & Long go, we’re reliant on two 21 yr old’s with 53 professional games between them, one of whom isn’t ours.

It's good this happens now,it gives Wilder time to get a replacement if he feels it necessary

Oh dear! You've got me worried now.

What if some other doom befalls us?

What if we spend a load of money on a striker and it turns out he's no good?
What if we sign a centre half and he breaks his leg playing cards on the team bus?
What if there is a great wind from the East and a plague of locusts eats all our crops and chicken balti pies?

I don't know the answer to these questions - but I think I know the answer to your first one. We just sign another keeper from somewhere else on loan - that's all.
 
I think that last year we were really fortunate to have the two keepers we did, we were really strong in that department. If I had to call it though, Blackman edged it.

I'd be really disappointed to see Moore go, I think he's very dependable. He's not as integral as some other members of the squad but if we were to lose him and Blackman went elsewhere, that'd be bloody annoying.

If this was always on the cards, I wish we'd have stumped up the cash for Jamal.

It's all about opinions mate, but I strongly disagree - Moore is better than Long in every aspect of his game.

Crucially, he's also more of a calming presence. George definitely is not.
