When it comes to knowledge of Sheffield United, Silent Blade is in a league of his own.
His encyclopedic knowledge and ability to recall facts and figures never ceases to amaze me.
Today marks the 50th anniversary of him becoming a committed Blade (4/01/1970)...

So here's to you, Silent Blade - Happy anniversary and here's to the next 50 years!

Without wanting to be too intrusive is that his date of birth or the date he first watched the blades. Either way his knowledge is amazing but if he was only born in 1970 then that’s incredible

The answer to that is in Silent Blade's post which was quoted - he said he became a Blade the day after that match, after watching it on TV. So he was born well before then, or an extremely precocious child with an amazing memory!

Ah thanks for that I should have read it, I’ll blame the early morning start

Word has it that Silent was born in a barn, surrounded by owls and various mythical creatures, all wearing the red and white stripes of the Blades. As boy Silent wandered the breadth and length of S2's alleys and highways, consuming fact after fact, until his brain was absolutely chocka with the enormity of the task ahead of him........but such is Silent's grasp and recall that all eyes turn towards him when Blades questions need to be answered.

Most important, he never gets the hump! Top man Silent, here's to many more years of achieving the ongoing task of being the go-to-guy where the Blades are concerned. UTMB!!!

Happy anniversary and best wishes Silent Blade.
It’ll be my 50th on the 3rd October, I think. The anniversary of the 3-2 derby victory at BDTBL.
Here’s to the next 50! 😂😂😂
Few of us knocking around here of a similar vintage , my 50th anniversary of first attending will be on Boxing Day this year.

Same result , Blades 2 Foxes 1 would do just fine.

Thank you all. Will post in the thread "50 years ago today" of what I remember about 4/1/70
Trouble with you young 'uns is you think you know it all. Except in your case, you do seem to know it all...
Like many others, I really appreciate your posts, and long may they continue. I love all the info, memories etc., but most importantly the way you wear your knowledge lightly. You set a great example of how to impart knowledge without making the rest of us feel inferior. Happy anniversary. And a first tomorrow with Fylde.

Of course this thread goes down in Silent folklore. Some proper research. Here's to the next 50!

That was a classic. Eddie Baboon, our own goal specialist, equalised for them.

Only joking Eddie
