We added to our list of internationals yesterday when Siem Ayob Abraha played and scored for Eritrea against Eswatini.

Apparently he's an 18 year old striker we picked up from Man Utd. Anyone know if he is any good? Yes he is. My friend went over to Morocco and watched him in that match and said he was excellent

Back in the 80s Plymouth Argyle had an absolute bruiser of a centre half called Forbes Phillipson Masters. Nobody would ever have taken the piss out of his name to his face, he was a bit nasty.

His full name was Ernest Forbes Phillipson Masters which actually sounds like a full back 4.

My new local side, Cracovia. Went to watch them the other week and they had a couple of decent players, but the standard is pretty poor in Ekstraklasa, although improving.

I’ll be going to watch them again soon so I’ll keep my eyes peeled for him.

To the Cracovia game? I’m tempted too, but possibly watching some lower league action across town at Kabel instead.

Cracovia is a short walk from the old town. 15 mins or so from the main square. A tidy little stadium that’s been redeveloped in recent years and it could easily pass as a modernist art gallery, from the outside. It’s been a pretty pleasant atmosphere around the ground when I’ve been - quite a few tourists. Don’t expect to get alcohol in the ground as it’s been banned on my last few visits. They’re playing Górnik Zabrze (who Podolski now owns). Historically one of the biggest clubs in Poland but haven’t done a lot since the early 70s and have yo-yoed between the top flight and second tier (like United really). Though they did win the Polish cup last season and came close to the title too. I don’t think there’s any animosity between the two clubs, so shouldn’t be any trouble.

Wisła Kraków’s ground is just across the park and has a proper football stadium feel. Wiesczyta Krakow are also playing there at the moment. Bankrolled by a Polish pharmaceutical billionaire, their current stadium doesn’t meet top flight regs. They’re playing at home on Monday night if you’re still about.

Enjoy it! The atmosphere in the ground should be excellent given the opposition. Cracovia fans seems displeased with their owner at the moment. They unfurled a banner at the last game I went to questioning his motives, but no sign of tennis balls yet!
