Apologies if mentioned elsewhere but this sat is a 'bring a friend for a tenner' deal for season ticket holders.

Now, I like such deals and I always try and bring a friend to support the offer. However, I only found out when I called to get a ticket for a friend who was coming anyway. I've not had any notification of the offer, and as such I presume not much has been done to let non s/t holders know so they can cajole their mates into getting them one.

It may be on the official site and programme but it really needs to be more widely spread to maximise take up.

So all your non season ticket holders - talk to your s/t holder mates and get down the lane. We need you!

All about season ticket holders again isn't it? Encouraging new fans.... who cares a monkey's?

Well if there's a season ticket holder who'd like to contact me about Saturday's game, send a mail on here.

I get to a few games each season and would be appreciative of taking advantage of this offer, promise I'll be good company, so if you're game get in touch UTB

Foxy I know we've discussed this briefly in previous threads but ..... I really don't understand this constant discounting for one off cup games for season ticket holders (and friends). To make it plain I am 60 and so will get a ticket for the same as a season ticket holder so it's not and never has been self interest for me. One-off cup games like this one are a great opportunity to attract new and lapsed supporters and so I really believe discounts should be across the board. We need as full a ground as we can manage.
Even today someone told me they and their family wouldn't be going because they felt like second class fans because of it. Sorry for bringing it up again but if major companies discounted existing customers and charged more for potential customers they'd soon be out of business.

This isn't a cup game.

I don't understand your point Gibbo89
Are they existing season ticket holders?

Gibbo, although I think you answered earlier. This doesn't benefit s/t holders. It benefits anyone who knows them. I'd like non s/t holders to contact me and say - ey up Jon, not been for a while, can I bag a cheap ticket on the back go your bad habit, let's have a pint too, maybe even enjoy the game and I'll come again....... Re the cup game, I think a £15 ticket v Forest in the latter stages of the cup is a reward for non s/t holders compared to the £26 my neutral mate paid to watch the might of MK Dons in an earlier 'category A' game earlier this year.

Put the word out on here if you'd like to take advantage. Those not using it usually offer up their customer number to allow fellow forum members access. We're nice like that on here.

I'm toying with renewing my s/t next year to be honest but a) would not begrudge a discount on cup games but more importantly b) would like some kind of advertisement when a friend could get me a cheapo ticket on the odd weekend. We've got half the ground unused. The fuller the better as far as I'm concerned.

Gibbo put a sock in it please with your anti ST holder rants
There are plenty of businesses out there that reward customers the more they spend the better discount they get or they might get an odd freebie

ST holders Often have to buy their STs as early as March in order to get the discount, two months before the previous season has finished and often before we know what division we will be playing in. Is it too much to expect a couple of deals during the season for our loyalty? The cheap ticket deals on C games and on family days, also the bring a friend for a tenner and kids for a quid all encourage new fans. As a club I reckon we are all treated OK. Now matters on the pitch........ That's a different subject :)

Personally i have no problem with season ticket holders getting cheaper tickets than the rest of us. Especially in seasons like this where they have had to endure utter torture every other weekend!!

But in all seriousness, i think they should be rewarded. Will i not pay £15 for a forest ticket in protest because my mate who is a season ticket holder gets in for £10. No, absolutely not. I'll pay the £15 because i feel it represents good 'value' to watch SUFC.

On another note, it might be an idea for the club to consider a 'members' discount. (I'm not sure if they do this already?) Say at the start of the season you can pay say £25 to become a 'member'. If you pay this before the season you are entitled to lets say £2 off every home match ticket. The numbers might need tweaking a little, but this rewards people who maybe can't afford a season ticket, can't commit to a full 23 games but will attend more than 12 home games a year. (12x£2 = £24, therefore membership is benficial to you if you attend 13 games or more).

I understand your point completely (even if I don't agree with it), but this isn't a discount for season ticket holders, it's a discount for non-season ticket holders!

What do I get as a season ticket holder from this offer? Absolutely nothing other than perhaps getting bugged by non-season ticket holders to get them a cheaper ticket.

Fuck 'em. Ignore every begging text, email and pm on here. :D

Hi Foxy, what you, or more precisely, the person who accompanies you gets, is an opportunity to see a game they might normally not go to watch, as in my case.

Ain't to proud to ask under such circumstances, as money is a major factor at the moment, and if there's a special offer that enables me to watch the Blades I'll jump at it. Just as any of us would if we saw a twofer in a supermarket.

I've not 'bugged' anyone about this offer, all I've done is post on here saying that I'd like to take advantage of this offer. If non-ST holders do contact ST holders about this I'd suggest they ease up, post on here that they're available, and see if anyone has the generosity of spirit to help them UTB

That is exactly my point. Someone who isn't a season ticket holder gets a cheaper ticket... The direct opposite to what Gibbo89 is suggesting :)

Don't be daft :) nowt to be "not proud" about!

The "being bugged" certainly wasn't aimed at anyone, let alone you, just used to illustrate a point that as a season ticket holder it's someone else who gets the benefit rather than the holder as Gibbo89 suggested.

The offer in my eyes does exactly what people are calling for in offers for those who aren't regulars.

Glad we're in agreement mate.

You should use the above if anyone ever suggests that 'arse licking' goes on lol

Whether I go or not, I'm always glued to a matchday report that happens here, next best thing etc,

Take care mate UTB

Thats cos season ticket holders put their cash in early and all at once, and lets be fair the difference between our season ticket holders and total crowds is not a very big difference, and most people know a season ticket holder.

Having said that I'm one and I didn't have a clue about this, and one of my mates without a season ticket has just paid full price.

I've paid full price despite knowing a number of ST holders. I think the point of the OP was to suggest it hadn't been particularly well advertised. If it was I agree and getting an e-mail about it at 17:00 was a little late in the day.

Is it too late now? I have 2 STs but, inevitably you may think, no friends.

Did you actually get an email advertising it? I've had nothing.

When you consider the club have only to fill that stadium on 23 dates it really shouldn't be that difficult.

Specific marketing staff should be given an objective, you have a fortnight to make sure every seat at BDTBL is sold by the time the next match kicks off. Those seats are the most perishable product at the club. Once the game starts the club will never have the opportunity of selling an empty seat for that fixture ever again. It's exactly the same principle for theatre seats, airline seats, hotel beds.

Now I realise there is always the argument of not devaluing the season ticket. I am a season ticket holder and I hate to sit on the kop staring at an empty upper tier on Bramall Lane. I would rather it be full rather the club allowing it to remain empty because they have concerns about people like me.

Similarly I don't think the club make the most of the season ticket holder. They should be gathering more information about all of us that would be useful in their marketing. We are their most valuable, loyal customers and yet they make very little effort to find out anything about us.
How many large successful companies behave like that?
This is not a cloak and dagger exercise that should be viewed with suspicion. We have shown we are all committed to helping the Blades be successful and once the club has this information they could start devising 'packages' that is relevant to its market rather than just some random 'product' deal.
