I think we should, if we got 6/7 million for the lad, we could buy 5 or 6 proven championship players to help get us promotion. Anyway its not like were short upfront with the likes of Hendo and Stokesy

YES YES & YES

cash in on beatie, webber and hendo asap!! send spring stokes, howard and dyer back to their clubs and get some QUALITY IN!! & Cheap as chips out !

No

We should send Stokes back and sell Henderson if anything.

If BB were in charge we would of spent all our money and sacked 5 managers in the space of 6 months.

I very much doubt we could get 6 or 7 million for him, who's going to pay that for a 31 yr old striker from the championship? if it was offered i'd snap their hands off though...

Not really......but i would have taken my time appointing a manager of the Blades. Warnock had past his sell by date when he left BDTBL and it was probably right for him to go having said that McCabe should have appointed someone with better football managerial skills than F10pp0 and or cheap as chips. The money WASTED by the Blades in the transfer market over the last few years shows how inept the club is.

Sell our top scorer whilst we are struggling to score?

Nah, he's the sort of player we currently need to be building our team around.

Hey up Foxy !

We'd only get 30 bob for him anyway he's bone idle !

I don't think we should sell him. Yeah he can be lazy, but he's still the only player we can rely upon to score.

I don't get where people can still call Beattie lazy???
Do they want him to Defend, Cross, Be creative in midfield, Set up Shots & Score all the time?
His job is to stand up front and score goals, but he does so much more every game including the afor-mentioned defending and midfield work he does.

couldnt agree more Sensi, His job is to score goals, granted he isnt doing much of that at the moment, but is that down to be out of form or more like lack of oppertunities? He is working far too hard at times for me.....

and before the impending onslaught of abuse for that comment, what Sensi has said is true, when he is back defending, or out on the right wing like he seems to be far too much lately he isnt where he should be which is in the middle of the box waiting for the oppertunity to crack one in or paoch something from nothing.

So for me, we shouldnt be thinking of selling unless we receive some outrageous bid for his services

Get rid ASAP, if it wasn't for his free kicks and penalties he would be about on a par with Billy Sharpe.

What a strange thing to say, Freekicks aren't exactly easy to score and I haven't seen anyone as composed taking a penalty since Dane Whitehouse.

It's like saying 'If it wasn't for him playing he wouldn't score any goals!'

As has been said, we would get nowhere near 7 million for a player of his age; we would be lucky to get the money that we paid for him.

I can see West Brom or Stoke putting a bid in for him, simply because they are not scoring the goals, but i fully expect him to see out his career with us.

I want Beattie to stay because, with the right service, he can score 25+ goals at this level. With no service, as he has had for the majority of the past 2 years, we can get you 15+ goals.

I dare say that no other striker outside the premiership would have the kind of goal record that Beattie has if they had played in our team for the past 2 years.

What I am saying is that BT offers very little to the team other than taking a good spot kick, not a lot of pace, very little movement off the ball and if he does it is into all the wrong areas and looking at his body language not a lot of desire to make things happen, I'm sick to death of seeing him throw a strop if the ball doesn't land on his foot. But hey ho with a £4m price tag he must be the dogs bollux
As far as I'm concerned get rid of the lot - not one decent striker at the club.

You sir.....are insane!:D

metal

we have a fantastic ambitious hard working squad of players full of pace and quality, a wonderfull manager who's tactics are simply amazing,a chairman who puts his ££££'s where his mouth is and entertainment to die for every other week at BDTBL and still you complain. ;)

I'm glad you put the ;) on the end of that, BB. I don't think I'd have understood that you were joking otherwise.

What I am saying is that BT offers very little to the team other than taking a good spot kick, (30 odd goals i2 1 1/2 seasons says he does a bit more than just take Penalties) not a lot of pace, very little movement off the ball and if he does it is into all the wrong areas (All his movement is on the Pitch :D ) and looking at his body language not a lot of desire to make things happen, I'm sick to death of seeing him throw a strop if the ball doesn't land on his foot (More often than not the strop's are because he's just been Jumped on/Kicked/Pushed or Manhandled off the ball without getting a free kick). But hey ho with a £4m price tag he must be the dogs bollux

I'm not sure what some players have to do to get recognised for the effort they put in.
People would probably moan even if wwe we're scoring 10 a game, they'd moan the players who didn't score wern't doing enough. :D

I agree that we should only get rid of beattie if we get a ridiculous offer for him but otherwise we should hang to him after all nobody else has scored more than 3 goals this season!!
I think we should try and get our hands on someone such as cameron jerome in january transfer window??? He has not been playing regularly recently and may be tempted by first team football??

offers very little....????? when he's not up front, he's back in our penalty area !!!....saved us many a time....!!!!!

It's all about opinions, some see the £4m price tag and think he can do no wrong others see it as something to live up to. I state again take away the spot kick and free kicks and his goal tally would be about on a par with Billy Sharpe. To me he is very similar to Andy Gray he was good from the spot too but was never a target man same as Beattie isn't a target man although Numpty 2 seems to think different.
How many goals has Beattie got from open play this season ? How many goals have United as a team got from open play this season ? At the start of the season I thought things would be so so different under Blackwell but from the attacking displays last season where we were winning games we have changed into a hoofball team trying to scrape goals from set plays. The table doesn't lie, the top three spots are long gone and a play of spot is now debatable, look at the three teams immediately above us Cardiff, Burnley and Preston all of them get gates about half the size of ours none have the resourses that we have or the financial clout that we have but they all play a better standard of football than we do. It says it all when the pigs in the state that they are in not a pot to piss in and a threadbare squad are only 3 points behind us - we are an absolute disgrace on the field of play. The scum from S6 have not won at the lane since 1967 or done a double since 1913 I fear for this proud record I really really do.

But he has scored those Penalties/Freekicks and open play goals and they can't be taken away from him.
So him having scored those goals does make him more of an assett than Sharp who hasn't.
The £4million price tag doesn't bother me one bit, it's how he plays on the pitch and he puts in more effort than some people give him credit for.

The chances have to be created for any of our Forwards to start scoring regular from open play and that is where the problem lies not who's up front.
