Unfortunately he may aswell stay until May. I think he will resign if we don't make the play offs anyway.

He may aswell see it to the end of the season, but we need to replace in time for the summer and get scouts at the world cup.

Im with you on this one matt, im not certain that a change of manager right now would be the resolution that everyone wants. I think that should we miss the playoffs then he will either walk or be pushed.

But as matt said, whichever it is they need to be looking around now for a replacement so that an appointment can be made straight away

Wait until May, relieve Blackie of his managerial duties, pay Donny what they want for O'Driscoll and let him re-build over the Summer, simples.

I didn't go today, but I don't doubt it was rubbish. The interview wasn't clever either, but I appreciate honesty even if it should be tempered with diplomacy.

If we're in relegation trouble (we're not) and we see the players not trying (they are) then I expect the manager to be sacked.

Blackwell's teams often play grim football, but he's working in a turbulent era for the club and generally his results remain good.

If we finish the season showing no promise for future improvement, and Blackwell gets replaced, then fair enough. But we shouldn't be in the business of rotating managers mid-season - that's a last resort.
I see your point but if we accept that as we are performing at the moment the playoffs are becoming unlikely, surely there is a good case for bringing in a decent manager now, so that he can work with the squad (the few who are ours) and therefore be in a better position to assess what we need to make a decent push next season.
I believe that Blackwell has lost the backing of a large proportion of the supporters AND the players do not seem to want to perform for him.

It's what the fans want but can you really see it happening?

we will go for a manager that is already out of work, can't see us paying compo to anybody.

currently unemployed managers:

Realistic targets for me there are:

Adams,
Allen,
Barnes,
Burley,
Cooper,
Davey,
Davison,
Jackson,
Jewell,
McAllister
McCall,
Newell,
Rodgers (Brendan)
Roeder,
Southgate,
Todd

The ones in bold i think "COULD" be half decent. the rest shouldn't get near.

89%(199) saying "go!" have you people taken your blinkers off for once :o shoes off it is if we lose our next few. Blackwell out and take quinn boy with him. Well he is up his arse.

That's 8 on the bounce away from home now and surely King Kevin must be treadijg on thin ice?

There's been a noticable change overt the last few weeks with people who have defended KB adamantly (such as Lou, Matt B and Swiss) getting pissed off and wanting rid of Blackwell.

I'm intrigued to know if any of the other so called 'clappers' (particularly people like Dunc) still think that Blackwell is the right man for the job?

indeed.. i'm astounded that they have finally come 'across'.. i'd had it when we sold cotterill.. i was bloody furious.. the fact that he keeps picking quinn (is he related or something?) just keeps putting the boot in..
i forgot we were playing last night.. wtf is going on?

I think once an away atmosphere turns on a manager like it did last night, there's no coming back for a manager.

His time has come. Give Speed the job as caretaker till the end of the season whilst discussing future possibilities to entirely re-build the club's coaching and playing staff if they don't think he's up for taking the job full time.
