Apparently he has offered to play for Bolton for free following expiry of a short terms deal but because of a transfer embargo, Bolton cannot register his signature making him a free agent.

No! Too old, even for a short term deal because we know what would happen. He'd come in, score a few goals, the club would get giddy at having another ex-premier league 'star' at the club and give him a 3 year contract.

I think there should be a ban on any manager at the club giving a contract to anybody over the age of 28, personally.
