I did as well which is why it surprised me. I expect that kind of shit from Norwich or Burnley but not Bournemouth. They have pretty much all their best players back from injury apart from Brooks and maybe someone else so there was no excuse for their antics.

I have seen them take apart some of the top sides in this league over recent seasons so I was quite disappointed to see them shithousing. I expected a proper game of football, had they pushed us more after their first goal they may have got a second as we hadn't switched on yet.

Maybe Howe is a one club manager and he is starting to run out of ideas? I don't know.

i dont think any of the players went down faking contact, some might of stayed down a bit longer then required, maybe in the players head the only way to get a decision from that ref was to stay down. there was alot of kick and pushes and players holding us back that didnt go punished and the tv were only replaying when sheff utd were awarded a free kick because they are the new fairy tell story, countless time their fullback was pulling on fraser but he didnt get a decision (or go down rolling around)

I think we have to be wise to this tactic from here on in, for the last couple of weeks this has been the new narrative that we’re a physical side. Bournemouth came with the tactic of getting as many of our players into the book as possible, as early as possible and try and get a man sent off. As others have mentioned, they do have some quality players and the tragedy (for them) is that such bad acting undermines what could have been a good display of skilled football from both sides. I guess Howe realised they weren’t good enough to sustain that skill level for more than 20 minutes.
It is a pity for them, after such a promising start, they lost all credibility.

I totally agree about the head injury = stop the game automatically. The worse this season for me was Watford at the Lane. Watford player goes down in a heap holding his head (as we are in possession of the ball and going forward) Ref stops the game, waves the physio on and ...... he starts working on his fucking LEG !! Why the ref didn’t have the balls to book the player God only knows. As said many times if the refs let them get away with it then the more it will continue.

Poor rule. He sprinted off cause they needed to get a goal with time running out. Original rule was sufficient but as you say not enforced. Refs should clamp down heavily.

Head injuries should have a compulsory concussion check with a concussion sub That would stop it

They are allowing refs to make the call as to whether they want them off on the nearest touchline or at the half way line where the player comes on. Some players were getting abuse and items thrown at them as they walked around the pitch in front of opposition supporters to based on where the player is, they have allowed the ref to make the call.

One bit sticks in my mind at Palace where, in the second half, Zaha fell down clutching his face as though someone had hit him. The replay shows nothing of the sort. He wasn't touched.

Does anyone think players are encouraged to behave in that way by their managers?

It is so blindingly obvious, seeing it happen on the pitch, the managers surely must be condoning these actions and the behaviour of their players - aren't they?

VAR could be very useful in trying to stamp out this sort of behaviour. Maybe the powers that be are not up to the job?

We are and the problem we have is that the odd time we do try to dive or roll around we are absolutely shit at it and it looks ridiculous. Bash, Baldock and Stevens have all had a go at diving this season and it looks as convincing as me masquerading as a fashion icon.
