Shirt collection.

Been intrigued over the last couple of weeks in peoples fascination in collecting shirts,I've only ever had one "white laver"never been a shirt boy in 40 plus years watching us.

How many have you still got?

I’ve got everyone I’ve bought since I started buying with my pocket money in the early 90’s starting with the red/ white/ black pin stripe one.

Never thrown any away but given a few as gifts in some of the places I’ve worked and visited. Top cupboard in the bedroom at home is filled with football shirts. Mostly United, but a few other foreign clubs and international shirts like Japan.

No idea how many I’ve got and I stopped buying for a while when we had some really shite kits in the late 90’s- early 00’s.

I wouldn’t call myself a collector, more of a hoarder

This. Never realised or remember buying so many until I went into the loft.

Same really. Never really had the money when I was younger so I'm surprised how many I managed to gather.

I've got one of my Dad's old ones, 87-90 away kit, and then pretty much everything (home) from 1990 until we went to Macron, none of which I really liked design or fit wise, so I've just got one of those. Don't think I've got the Patrick kit though.

Away kit is a bit more sparse, couple of lime green kits, the classic le coq sportif Wards one and one with Capital One on, promotion season away kit, purple and gold avec, and a few others. More recently I've had money so I've bought the lot.

Only wear them to football matches so it's probably not a good investment but I do like to have them. My plan is eventually find them all out and store them properly in a wardrobe, and then I'll have something to look back at in 20 years and post on here hopefully. I'll be batting peoples DMs away haha..

I've got about 18 over the years. Less than half probably still fit me.
 
I recall a friend buying the 81/82 away shirt (pristine condition)... about a decade ago.

I have no idea if it was a bargain, what will it be worth in today's climate?
 



Ive spent around £900 on blades shirts. Got all the umbro home, away and all 3rd kits. All in my size large and all are perfect condition, no bobbles or pulls. Thats why they cost me so much. Would love laver sponsor on my home 87. Home 1990 red black white pinstripe and away 90 luminous yellow. They really are like gold dust the laver ones. As i recall, ones with laver on were sold in shops from the 1992 umbro laces shirt onwards. Anybody who has a sponsor on theres pre 1992 ‘acquired’ it from elsewhere like a player issue. Yep my shirt collection cost me shitloads. Also got the van basten adidas holland shirt from euro 88. Now that is worth £600-£700 and is probably the most wanted and iconic shirt of them all.

Still got a few dice check Ben Sherman’s with button down collar and a penny round.
 
i've got 2 L and XL Laver Shirts one is signed by keith edwards brian deane tony currie the other is just the normal shirt.

I'd be open to offers on one of them.
 
I've got two shifts in my possession. DeSun Triple Header season shirt and HFS Loans promotion season shirt. I did have the Laver first season in PL shirt somewhere as well as the dark blue/purple with diagonal stripe away shirt somewhere and my dad gave me his bright yellow no sponsor away shirt from the Leicester game. God knows where they are...
 
I’ve got the luminous yellow, the regular yellow (Bobby Davison one - some reason I attribute a player to a shirt), the pinstripe, laces x2, the white 3rd laver, the greeny purple laver, Midas games home and gold away, 03 home, black and white away... plus a few more I’ve forgotten about (genuinely bought duplicates because I forgot I’d got them).

Then I’ve got foreign ones. Italy 06 away. Barcelona, Real Madrid Las Palmas Real Betis, Real Mallorca, CF Benidorm (yes, really) CD Lugo (the one that looks like a pint of lager), Deportivo Wanka (Peruvian side), Colombier (Swiss side), Dortmund, Benfica, Palermo, Malta, Sydney FC, Perth Glory, Greece away, Fiorentina... plus more I will have forgotten about. Some I can pick up for a quid, some - like the luminous Blades - £80. Dare say I’m touching £1000 worth. Some of them just land on the doormat and go in the loft.

I don’t smoke, gamble or take drugs so it’s my little bit of ‘that’ I suppose.

Probably a dozen or so going back to my first ever shirt when I was 3 or 4 years old.
The badge got transferred to my 75/76 admiral kit, sadly I have no idea where that ended up
