Like most Blades I think, I've been waiting for the CWAK system to get found out. I thought the step up to the Championship would mean that modifications would be required, and a tweak of the system needed against better players. But it didn't happen, season 1 there was a surprise at how well we performed, we ran out of steam and goals. A few additions for the following season, but no change in the system or philosophy, despite me and many others expecting the championship to have got to grips with this system and be able to nullify or at least restrict it, but no we fly through the division and hit the Premier League. Surely this season, at the highest level there would be tweaks needed, less possession and pressing. It's early days, but little or no change and so far no significant indication that PL teams have found the answer. Time will tell, as may a few defeats, but so far the same pattern.
Hope you're right SEB.
One possibility is that with the acquisition of technically better players, our system takes on an even more formidable look. Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but as we seem to have got the monkey off our back regarding buying players who at one time were considered out of reach, I look forward to Wilder recruiting the type of player who is adept and capable of bringing more to our system then we imagine possible.
All depends on retaining our Prem status of course, but based on the few games we've played so far, my feeling is that, with a tad more confidence, we will offer most, if not all, teams a game where they'll need to be on their toes against us.
