Like Presty says mate, you have to "grow" a thick skin. If you're a young lad (I guess so) then you'll look back and laugh. First lesson though, learn to take a breath before hitting reply!

Artists can do quite well eventually on here and make a fine contribution. Presty only gets called a twat once a week or so now

I'd like to add that I picked up one of these Billy Sharp prints via Facebook on the V.I.P Blades page, had issues with delivery not turning up which was the fault of Royal Mail (I assume). Contacted Liam who offered to send another out which also didn't arrive, alarm bell started to ring but sent him another message and he delivered to my house himself. Took longer than expected to finally get it but the print is very nice, looks smart.

His outburst was a bit ott but that was an everyday thing on here last season.

Not at inframe. I've been there a few times for framing. I tend to sell everything independently. I sell at wholesale to Sheffield galleries and a few shops but never on a exhibit/commission basis: if they want it in there shops, they need to buy it from me.

There is a bit of etiquette that isn't clear on here unless you're a long term lurker, you're not to know. Most posters aren't really mean but just look for a rise so take it for what it is.

Presty is a good one to bounce off. I once sent him two sides of A4 constructive criticism and he took it on board and went from childish scribbles to being headline news and selling out of the club shop in no time.

Presty, you have to be related to proper football legend William Prest (co-founder of Sheffield FC and the Sheffield rules), am I right and if so what's the story there?

Not directly as I don't believe William had any children. But, it's a rare surname and William moved to Sheffield at around the same time as my great times X grandparents so it's either a huge coincidence or he is a distant uncle in some form.

William was from an aristocratic background and my great grandad always said there was blue blood in us from way back and his mother - my great great grandma had 3 kids out of wedlock and was cast out of said aristo and moved to Dronfield where we've been poor, rough arses ever since!

In order to prove a connection between us and the famous William though I need to go back into the 1700's and trace his line back to see where it connects to mine and that's into the times before cencus records and sketchy parish registers etc.

William was quite a bloke. Football pioneer, first class test cricketer, political figurehead of the time and burried with full military honours in a funeral where 'thousands lined the streets'. There's a bust of him in the hall of fame at BDTBL.

Personally I wouldn't buy anything online from a site where the only contact detail is a hotmail account. Believe it's also against the distance selling legislation too although stand to be corrected.

As the owner of an ecommerce website I believe that this is only true if you're a company. For instance we have to display our company number, address, emails etc.

But also, this could be true for any sellers?

Your response suggests lack,of years LJ. You've not been singled out. Read back on old threads where new members have introduced themselves by trying to use S4SU for commercial gain. It doesn't go well, it makes me feel like you are trying to exploit me cause I'm a Blade (or a cufa in you're outburst).

The artwork looks amazing but give it a few thousand cap doffing posts, gain some respect, have a bit of banter and when you feel you can tell LYDON to feck off and he likes it people might buy.

With regards to copyright infringement, do you need to pass any monies on to the brand owners?

Morning all,

I have done some paintings for Blades fans to enjoy, the first one of Billy i have given to him when i went to the supporters club awards 2 weeks ago, he loved it! I have made 1889 limited edition prints which are available for £25, they come signed and numbered.

The second painting i have available is our badge, which i have had signed by all the players, so any prints ordered will come with the signatures of the team on the print as well around the white area.

I don't wish to appear too negative, but if you think that you will sell 1889 prints at £25, you are being naive. At a guess, you'll be lucky to sell 200.

It's hard to imagine what what have happened to football without the Sheffield rules, which make the laws almost perfect in my opinion (I have a thing about penalties though). It is said on my mothers side of the family that they were descended from Lord Byron through an illegitimate line and reading about his depraved and decadent behaviour I can well believe it to be true. I like your 'Blades up' print

I found Ancestry is only about getting your money and lots of it as do a lot of these genealogy sites. Anyone would think it is easier to trace your ancestors if you have a rare surname but that is not always the case. I can go back only 200 years on my surname which is very rare in Sheffield (more of us in Walsall/West Bromwich) but then nothing. My mothers side is a more common name but I can go back to the 1500's with that name probably due to my ancestors coming from the Conningsby/Tattershall area where the church was a Collegiate built in 1500. Strange to think I have wandered around Tattershall Castle the church and RAF Conningsby and never knew my ancestors came from those villages over 500 years ago. Try the MyHeritage site which compares family trees to get matches with yours, some distant relative may have done the leg work for you.
