I don’t know if it’s been mentioned before but I came across a Twitter account today called Sheffield United Arabic @SUFCArabic. Being in Arabic I’d no idea what was being said, but it’s packed with pictures of the Wizards and what stuck me is that it has 40.6k followers. This hopefully is a reflection of the amount of interest we’re generating outside the UK right now, and hopefully if HRH‘s looking to bring in additional investment, it can only help his cause.

Out of interest, are there any other overseas Blades related accounts or websites out there that posters have seen?

It's been running since the start of the season I think. As far as content is concerned I think it's just the normal official twitter stuff translated. 40.6k followers probably means the Prince is keeping it in the family for the time being.

At the end of last season the SUFC official YouTube site had 20k subscribers. It was static around the 17-18K mark for years.

Just in the last 4 months it’s now increased to 37.4K subscribers.

We seem to be gaining 5000 new subscribers each month and whilst we’re in the PL receiving world wide publicity it will increase even further.

On a side note, I noticed the style of the tweets is very similar to other Prem club Arabic twitter feeds. I'd take a guess and say its contracted out to a company that specialises in Arabic market social media. A huge market to tap into.

I'm not on twitter, but not being a user doesnt prevent you from searching for us on there and viewing the results.
Yesterday there was tweets about us in many different languages, I remember google translating a few from Norwegian and Arabic to see what they were saying. Mostly shocked/impressed at our league position

I‘m pretty sure the Prince was instrumental in setting it up. I remember something about it when he won the court case.

I’d say the fact that we have an Arabic speaking Chairman will have had a huge bearing on it.

If I were the Blades social media bods I’d get a Thai one setup to piss the pigs off.

I would think that HRH had some input into the Arabic language version of the website. No idea if that was just him being Arabic and wants to grow the fanbase, or he is seeking investment from wealthy middle eastern sources.
He is his own man and obviously has contacts in that area, but i don't believe it should be assumed that it links him to Arabic investment, especially after the hostile reception to the Bin Laden name.
Our global brand may well have increased but choosing investors in the middle east has more to do with their desire for influence than our PL performance alone.

So i tried to share the Arabic Instagram account and noticed that the content isn't up to date, which isn't really great.

I had a Lebanese bird a few years back when i was in Qatar, she was lovely. She apparently spoke the arabic version of the "Queens English".
Never learnt a word of arabic from her.
