When we get promoted to the premierhip how do you think it will be portrayed by the media? I for one cant wait to read and listen to all the shit they spout about so and so throwing it away and how lucky sheff u are to be sneeking up. I think it would be refreshing for someone to come out and write something nice about us for a change. In fact no. Fuck it. Let 'em do whatever they want, i dont really give a toss what the media say or do so long as we keep beatin whats put in front of us game in game out 'till the end of the season.

Exactly. For starters Fatty Samuels will be sticking his journalistic knife in at every opportunity, and I think there just might be several other hacks biased against us. Let them write what they want. It matters not.

The media will portray us as a big, physical side who are dangerous with free kicks and corners when we are none of the aforementioned. As long as we are back in the Premiership to be stereotyped like that, who cares? We should be used to it by now.

Indeed, whereas Reading are portrayed as a cultured passing side, akin to Arsenal. The reality is that they are anything but.

I quite like the fact we're always seen as the underdog. It's what makes Sheff United, Sheff United i think.

agreed Sheffield united are seen as under dogs that’s what makes us united against all others with our backs to the wall I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Then again if there’s rich oil sheik wants to make us richer than Chelsea and man city  :D

And to be honest i would not be bothered if we get tagged as that.

We have a team with some big brutes in it, Morgan, and Henderson for example but we are playing a style of football that suits us and at the moment we are very difficult to beat. I don't care if long ball, direct, physical football wins you games as thats good enough for me

Who cares what the media thinks?
Its been like this since the 80s when Bassett was in charge & its stuck.

Just like Stoke with Delap.

That said, I'll give Radio Sheffield some credit from around September when the Bennett and the Walker were discussing the long throw, and more to the point how they were taking the piss of it being discussed like it was a new invention, not to mention like a longbow in the Hundred Years' War on Match Of The Day.

The conversation went along the lines of

[SB] Who'd a'thunk it? A long throw!
[PW] I know, what a tactic!
[SB] Nobody's EVER done that before!
[PW] I know. The Premiership is stunned with such insight!
[SB] Anybody remember Bromby?
[PW] Who? You mean Kozluk, surely?
[SB] Must have been me. What a brand new tactic!

I like being on the outside of the meeja, if the truth be told.
