Remember it well. Had a beer mat with " Save Our Pigs " on it. They had a near 60000 capacity ground but were getting crowds as low as 5-8000. Once again mismanaged in anticipation of MASSIVE crowds which never happen. Just a bunch of trashy beggars. Still trying to twist the rules. Big Fat Ron when he took them to 3rd in the league, promotion and the Rumbollox Cup saying they would be up there attendance wise with Man U and Newc. In fact there 3rd place average was 1000 less than when we got relegated.Alcoblade sorry mate but the Star is heavily biased in favour of the snortbeasts at S6, this was never more evident in their sickening begging for the pigs in 70's, you may or may not be old enough to remember; us that do it was cringeworthy.
Schooldays for me then. Some brighter and more talented Blades managed to alter that save our ###s logo to one in red and white with the owl sinking.
Dunno if it was ever printed. Not seen one since.
Thanks ST. Don't know if it's the same one. There was a red and white one with "Doomed" on it.
There's an advert in tonight's for someone to write about the budgies. To be part of the match day team !
Only a fool would think that a paper in a 2 club city would favour one or the other.Greasy I hope your tongue was firmly in your cheek mate, the Star has been so pro pig for donkeys years mate, the Star only paper that gets it's news off Facebook.
Ah yes, that campaign almost 50 years ago. They must be biased then.Alcoblade sorry mate but the Star is heavily biased in favour of the snortbeasts at S6, this was never more evident in their sickening begging for the pigs in 70's, you may or may not be old enough to remember; us that do it was cringeworthy.
How do you write 16 pages on Sheffield Wednesday, currently???
UTB

Classic Sheff Utd victim status.

That’s because it’s only tabloid sizeI’d not take that paper if someone paid me to read it
I wouldn’t even wipe my arse on the thing
Forest Fairies ban/fine
Bruce walking out
Embargo
Listing and discussions on all the high profile signings
Improvements to the stadium
The Chansers fantastic holiday in Florida
Gary Rowetts imminent appointment
Plenty to talk about and it's all good![]()
That just wouldn’t happen, would it? Read what you’re actually saying. We'll see how it goes this season if Wendy lose to Wigan and we beat Arsenal and they still get top billing.
Barely get a mentionI’ve not read the stir in years and only read selected articles on the web nowadays. Kevin gage column etc.
It’s always had a bias to the S6 massive ever since I was a kid growing up in Sheffield in the 70’s.
We’ll barely get a mention this season but who cares?. I certainly don’t. UTB![]()
Next week. Before the start of the season.
Or someone old enough to have witnessed it, and please don't insult us by calling the Star a paper
Cuckoo CuckooThe Sheffield star will be hurting badly this summer lol ... any blades thinking there's no bias in the star towards the swine must be f***ing barking ... at the very least if you look closely any good news story for both clubs will start Sheffield Wednesday then United any bad news story, usually hooliganism, United get the banner headlines if it involves both clubs. Sheffield star are essentially Wednesday fans, whereas we are always covered as a club that play in the region, and that's on a good day!

Hey up Hilly I'm almost 61 and yes don't buy the Star in fact don't buy any paper any more they're all trash, this country has become obsessed with what so and so had for breakfast or had a shit not my scene mate. Some of my best mates are Wendys couldn't have said that 45 years ago I'm old and grumpy and too set in my ways to change mate & love a rantI'm going on 50 Bypass, I remember the evening broadsheet! Like all local papers it has had to adapt, it isn't what it was, just different by necessity.
Whilst there has been some sensationalist guff written over the years, Wendy also say the same.
I'm guessing you haven't bought it regular for years but it doesn't stop you getting aboard the 'pig rag' charrabang.
just fetched the sheffield star, 16 page pull out on sheffield wednesday hope we get the same coverage, maybe me but i doubt it, we will see, according to them its top two.will await tomorrows star
