It's the 10 bob, tinpot Star Football Awards tonight and here's the two tables...

First the pork with their coffee, water and wine on a nicely set out table...

And now we come to Wilder's army, bottles of peroni on ice with empties all over the table and everyone looking half way to being pissed before it goes dark...

What a club!

Why is it Peroni and not some local ale?

I'm also expecting the a 'Peroni stand' next season given the amount the squad have supped this month!

"Special Award." Almost like they had to make an award up so their favourite team won something isn't it?

But they're not biased. Not at all. No sir. Completely neutral...

So in summary...

"They'll probably give the best team award to Donny" – it goes to us. As does the golden boot award and best manager award. Generally speaking local press like to spread out awards, but we've actually won all three of any real note – a pretty decent reflection of our season really.

Wednesday get some minor award of no remotely major note for their anniversary: bias suggested. Blimey.

Not trying to ignore the awards they gave us, which, let's be honest, were pretty much shoe-ins given how this season has gone.

The Star had no choice
What Chris Wilder has done feels like a miracle.
We're not just playing successful football but playing some beautiful really entertaining football.
Even Bassett and Warnock, although very successful, never had us playing beautiful football.

Wilder deserves all the plaudits.
I won't forget what he's done and from my point of view has bought himself a lot of time and patience if things ever go pear shaped next season. Just hope I'm not in the minority and our fans don't start insulting Wilder and calling for his head if we're bottom after 4 matches, like some did this season.

Didn't Billy Sharp and John Fleck get "joint player of the year" as well? I am sure my missus read that out?

You'd have thought so, but that Pig Rag will probably give them to someone else to spite us, such is their long-standing bias and editorial direction and all.

Tbf to the pigs it was a nice gesture allowing the waiter to sit them all night on their table. He just looks delighted to be there.
