Watched him for another 45mins, he was ok but nothing special and once again didn’t see anything from him that Peck can’t do (including a daft booking!). Gassama their best player, pretty much what we want to see from Brooks/JRS. Cba to watch second half.

Both Musaba and Gassama are really dangerous players but are too inconsistent and their end product/decision making is often rubbish.

Don’t think the Josef Crann has a scooby what’s happening

I just dont think we'll get Charles neither. And if Souza is fit then we really want someone a bit more creative alongside Souza. Someone like Tommy Doyle! I'd rather Doyle over Charles for that reason.

I think Souza and Charles would be perfect for games against Leeds and Burnley. When we need to keep it tight. It's going to go down to the wire, I think, so getting something against both will be important.

Also, Souza, whenever he comes back, cannot play all the time. Having both of them would mean we can have a fresh enforcer beast at all times.

I think Davies and Peck can fill the more creative position.

I can see why Charles would want to go back to Wednesday but surely Southampton would prefer him in a top team, like they'd likely be next season? I would suspect Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland would all want him though and while he might want to remain in Sheffield for his brother, mates etc it would be a wrong move for him to come here.

apparently wednesday were as dire tonight 2nd arf as we were in first half last night their not happy little piggies tonight on porktalk 🤭🤣⚔️

The best players are “football smart” and If Charles isn’t smart enough to get as far away from that shambles of a comedy club as possible then he can’t be that good. UTB

One Grunter on Porktalk claiming he has re- signed for them at a cost of £250k 🤷‍♂️

They’re genuinely terrified we’d get him. Whatever happens either way I don’t think it’s a huge deal for us. They’re begging and bending over backwards for him to stay for a few more months before he forgets all about them. Southampton are the true beneficiaries and Wednesday no matter what happens are the ones who’ll be affected in the long run.

I'm quite surprised that Southampton don't want to keep him and get him integrated into their first team.
Exactly, they are down and should be building for next season...however it may be that they don't really rate him as they have other 'better' players and just want to put him in the shop window.

Southampton have a famed cat 1 academy and probably have a lot of useful youngsters coming through who may fit their style of play better. Charles looks to be an all action type of midfielder but doesn't look very composed on the ball to me and gives it away a lot.

This has gone on so long I gave completely lost track.
Help needed.
What was the point of Soton recalling him ?
I presume they don't want to sell him ?

Was it just to play clever fuckers with the pigs and screw them for an additional fee to extend the loan ?
Are Soton really that skint they need to play games with a season-long loan deal for a few extra bob ?
I just don't understand what's happening here - maybe it's me , but any explanation would help , ta !

He was quoting what he thought was an official SWFC twitter page but apparently it’s a fake.

The guy who posted it is either winding them up or a bit simple …some Owls are wanting the thread to be deleted.

There’s no real change in the news, they want him, he’s happy at SWFC, but there’s some negotiating to do with Southampton regards increasing the fee. It’s in Chansiris capable hands, he’ll be repeating what he said in last weeks forum that if Southampton don’t give him back then he will find ways to hurt them.
What a negotiator eh?

Various explanations, including the new manager wanting to look at what he'd got.

The big one however, was that Soton had loaned a midfielder from Chelsea who they thought was going to be recalled and so they were bringing Charles back at the deadline just in case they were left without cover. Then Chelsea signalled they weren't going to recall anyway so soton are now left with Charles surplus to requirements again.

Thank you for that , much appreciated

It will say a lot about his character and ability to succeed in game to see what he does next.

Goes back to Pigs, one of the better players, if not best, walks into team each week under no pressure, finishes
Mid table.

Goes to Blades, not a definite pick, backs himself and tries to get a promotion medal early in his career.

Stays at Southampton, decides to compete for a place in their team and mail down a spot for next year.

Latter two are more difficult options but likely to lead to more long term growth.

Top option is taking the easy route.

Let’s see what sort of bottle he has. Is he pushing himself on or taking a gap year?

Agreed is he willing to push himself in a team gunning for promotion, or is he willing to take the easy route and stroll into a team with poor players and nothing to play for.
