Couple of reds in 25 appearances last season, not a perfect record but not a cause to write him off. Missed out on an England U21 call up due to injury. Oh and he's a centre back.

Fair point. His wiki page does suggest that he had problems with red cards at Motherwell too though. But, in honesty, difficult to tell whether it was indeed a problem or just circumstances. As you say, no cause to write him off.
