For someone that professes to be a "well known expert", you've got some front regurgitating the subject of Mr Horrenderson. Thought you might have learned your lesson.

Obviously not ;)

Nothing but love for ya. All Blades :)

Henderson was a good target man who we could have got more out of. But the constant injuries meant that ultimately he was indeed a horrendous waste of money. The red cards didn't help either.

If he had stayed fit in 2010/11 (certainly along with Morgan and Williamson) we would've stayed up. We were incompetent that season but we really had terrible luck with those injuries - they were our 3 best central players.

Don't see what all the fuss is about as I think there is a very big question mark over whether or not Billy will cut it in the championship. Personally I don't think he will and it will be interesting to see how many new forwards CW brings in during the close season.

I don't know whether or not it's a uniquely Blades trait to retain such spite towards players long after they've left but it's quite an unpleasant one.

At least we can agree on the horrendous bit. Something apparent to one of us much sooner than the other !

Oh, so when was it apparent to you that he'd miss nearly the whole 2010/11 season through injury? Because that's why he was a waste of money. He wouldn't have been a waste of money if he stayed fit and kept us up.

What a G'wan ?

I seem to recall Tufty stating that Coutts, Basham and Freeman would be around next season due to activation clauses.

What about the skipper ? As far as I'm aware, nowts been said.

I have to say, on the face of it, it kinda looks like he might be on his way.

So what's the story ?

UTB

Oooh yer little tinker Dronnie!

I think he said that Sharp also had an extension clause along with Scougall and possibly Done.
I'm surprised if Scougall and Done hang around to be honest! I don't there's much chance of regular first team Footy for them. I think they'll both join Fleetwood.

Yes. Understood.

But why confirm the 3 will be around and not include in this our top scoring captain ? It raises a question / suspicion do you not think ?

UTB

Ps Scougall is toast, Done probably same.
Done is fried bread.

I think Cloughy will take over at Forest and put a bid in to take Brayford with him and possibly Sharp. You heard it here first.

And I'm not " ITK". But I do have a vivid imagination.

I know I'm probably in a minority, but I've never been too much bothered when Billy's not been scoring because of his ability to work and pull defenders around creating space for others. Back when he played alongside Beatty I would have favoured him over Beats for the same reason. Wilder wasn't fazed when he dropped Billy in behind Hanson and Clarky because he knew he could do a job for them..... and so it proved. He works the channels and gets down the left flank with some nifty footwork, and can knock a dangerous ball across the 6 yard box better than some wing-backs we know. You have to play to Billy's strengths to get the best out of him, and certainly you won't manage that if you set up to play him as a lone striker like some dick-heads have done (not mentioning any names).

Wowza. Some folks really got their knickers in a twist on this one.

If you, and others, care to read, in the context I provided, you will note it is in direct response to Tufty saying Freeman, Coutts and Bash are here next year but leaving out Billy's name.

I was curious as to why. Nothing more.

UTB

So when he mentioned a few names in an interview you assumed it was supposed to be an exhaustive list of every player's contract situation?

WTF did his injury record have to do with it.

When he was on the pitch was he any good

When he was on the pitch vs when he wasn't how much more efficient was the TEAM in terms of points per game

Some folks have very short memories and providing any defence for Darius is bluntly futile

His injury record has everything to do with being a 'horrendous' waste of money. Not that I'm claiming he was worth what we paid when he was on the pitch.

When Beattie left and Henderson came in we were better as a team. Visibly, and statistically. Although we could've obviously done with Beattie in the end.

After he left he also had a 1 in 2 ratio for Millwall, in the Championship, scoring 16.

Your memory deceives you. Our average points per game with Henderson in the side was 1.1 points per game. Without him it was 1.7. A Fact to which you are Well aware.

UTB

It takes more than muscles ;)

My memory deceives me but you know I'm well aware of that very particular stat?! That was from 2009/10 wasn't it? I remember arguing about the many other contributing factors towards those stats.

This was 2008/09.

Before Beattie left we had 41 points from 26 games - 1.58 points per game.

After Henderson took his place in the team we got 39 points from 20, and were the best team in the league from then until the end of the season - 1.95 points per game.

Neither 1.58 or 1.95 is relegation form though is it.1.1 is !!

You know the score. This is one you got painfully wrong. It's just hard for you to suck it up.

Yes, you're right.

My stats are completely worthless but yours are totally unquestionable.

The run we went on with him in the team might just suggest he wasn't the problem the following season.

Didn't Beattie play alongside Henderson a fair few games? Seem to recall they were paired together the month before he left.

Yep. Forest away for one. And it was absolutely horrible. One of the worst games I've ever seen. Our front two certainly played their part in that!
