In his post match interview I noticed that Billy Sharp dedicated his goal to the club photographer Martyn Harrison.

It seems that Harrison is unwell, and Billy made a point of wishing him well and hoping he gets better soon. A lovely thought, and says a great deal about Sharp as a person. It makes me feel especially pleased, and dare I say proud, that one of our players can make such a dedication towards one of the stalwarts behind the scenes.

I'll join in Sharp's wish and hope that Harrison is soon back to good health.

Adkins also mentioned him after the Peterboro game and Gary Sinclair is all over facebook about him ,where there are many well wishes including one from Dougie Hodgson.

If it's not impolite to ask*, does anyone know what is is the matter with him?

(* if it is, then please ignore.)

I could see that goal meant a lot to him, that's a great gesture.

yeah, was quite near where he did the celebration, about 10 rows back, and you could really see how much it meant. Have to say same for McNulty as well, looked like he was going to burst a blood vessel, you could almost hear his scream over the crowd.

After having to fight last year against the illness and only just returning to work pre-season, Martyn has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time last month.

Anyone who knows Baldy, knows he eats, sleeps and breathes Sheffield United, and will be wishing him all the very best. It's hoped he'll be at the Colchester game on the 5th Sept.

"Hi everyone an update from the horses mouth regarding Martyn Harrison(my dad)
I've seen a few messages flying around and want to give everyone the details so there is no confusion.
My dad has been diagnosed with cancer for a 2nd time last month. This time unfortunately it is terminal as we have just found out last week. We are all devestated but we are not letting our heads drop. My dad is not just a blade he lives eats sleeps united. He has lost a lot of mobility due to the operation trying to remove the cancer from his spine. While he is still able we are hoping to get him down to the Colchester game on the 5th of September. I hope old friends and fellow blades are there for his support aswell as the team. Thanks for everyone's support over the last week we really appreciate everyone's messages. UTB"
