Like many I’ve read literally hundreds of posts on this day , one of the most encouraging and entertaining ones for Blades fans for quite some time .

Two of the most interesting ones were , at half time - “We’re crying out for Brewster , Billy doesn’t have the strength or mobility “ and after the game was over ,

“ Billy’s not the answer “

What can I say , other than how the fuck can anyone with even a modicum of knowledge and understanding of the game of football arrive at those conclusions ?

That was probably the best i've seen him play. The great thing is, his hold up play, link up play, strength we saw today is not mutually exclusive alongside his finishing ability. Just because he didn't score today (and didn't take a chance he'll probably be disappointed with) doesn't mean he has forgotten how to do it.

With that in mind I'd say this is the best iteration of Billy Sharp there ever has been in his entire career. He's a different, and much better player than we signed in league one. Absolutely shows his class as a person, athlete and professional that he's at his peak at an age where he should be massively on the decline with the type of striker he's been all his career. Not only that, but he continues to get better and better and better.

I predict he will become a really good coach and manager when his playing days are done. He's a winner and an incredibly hard working man who loves the game and clearly has a thirst and desire to constantly improve himself. That last sentence may sound like a pre-requisite for any professional footballer, but when you compare him to many others in the game, he stands out a mile as these attributes are far rarer than you think.

Top draw performance from Billy. My MOM (with Osborn just behind). So many to pick from though (MGW and Ndiaye obvs up there).

Maybe didn't grab the headlines like Ndiaye and MGW, but that was as classy a performance as you'll likely see from our Bill. Absolutely faultless.

I've wrote him off a couple of times tbh, after both our recent promotions, but he keeps proving me wrong.
He's now reinvented himself as a goal provider aswell as a goal machine.. I had to look twice to make sure it was him on the left channel linking up and getting beyond defenders and standing up a great cross for Ndiaye's 2nd.. fantastic performance.

Brewster has got a right job trying to get ahead of Sharp and even McBurnie
