Sharp assaulted

Let's be honest. If the situation was reversed and this was at Bramall Lane, is anyone seriously telling me that there wouldn't have been a pitch invasion? It's all well and good saying it wasn't stewarded properly, but how do you stop thousands from getting on the pitch with only a few hundred staff? The majority of Forest fans behaved when they got on the pitch. They did what our fans would do. Tried to get to their own players to shake their hands and thank them, to take photos and have their "I was there moment." Let's not forget the amazing scenes and iconic photo of Billy being carried by fans during one of our promotions, before we sound like hypocrites.

One fan acted like a tool in assaulting Billy and he made himself easily identifiable due to wearing a bright yellow top and having a bald head. A person has been identified and arrested and he will be charged. Posting comments about assaulting him is moronic and almost no better than him. You can't condemn violence whilst advocating violence.

Forest will probably receive a fine but no further sanctions unless there's been repeated trouble throughout the season, which there hasn't been. Let remember how many incidents it took until A&B block got closed for the season on thr South Stand back in 2003. It took several before action was taken.

Although not the scariest thing to do I have reported the tweet to twitter as using threatening behaviour it will get reviewed and a notification sent to the user or it could be account removal a bit of inconvenience if nothing else
Done this with a few myself. Some people need bringing down a peg or two. It won’t make much difference of course, even if they get banned for a bit, but it might be a start.

Only one solution. Close their ground for the first six home game, next season. Chance what l league they in. None of these fines, failing to control your supporters
This got me thinking; why are we still the only club to have had part of our ground closed due to fan issues (and that was 17/18 years ago)? Been loads of incidents at other places since, but the same punishment hasn’t been enforced.

He might not even be called John that's just what I was told could be someone talking shit but to he honest he looks like a John 😂

Can you do us a favour in future, if you must read drivel on Facebook/Twitter can you stop sharing thoughts on here and keep them to yourself, you have probably shared the picture of the bloke you outed on your own social media along with many others, do you not realise this could have consequences for the individual? To follow on from that you then go and 'name' who you think it is.

The attack is obviously appalling and I’ve got nothing really to add that hasn’t already been said well by others.

What is clear is a pattern is emerging of increased fan interference and now violence against players. We’ve seen fans identifying where teams have been staying before games and trying to prevent players sleeping and being lauded for it as showing passion. We’ve seen players routinely targeted and abused online often racially and now we’re seeing incidents of violence against players with what is approaching semi regularity. Players are increasingly being seen as fair game and something has to be done to prevent it because fans won’t police themselves just look at the reaction to this online it’s a mixed response and there’s every chance some fuckwit will be inspired to have a go at this themselves should they get the chance.

I can't see how the assailant got away last night?Forest failed to protect player of an opposition team.
Consequences due.
Bang on, I don’t give a fuck what anyone says kick them out of the playoffs. This is the second time this season a fan has attacked a player at their little hole of a stadium.

Give us their place in the final and that would be a REAL motivator for their club to get to grips with the problem.

I dont think BCM is the brightest lamp in the street to be honest.
You would be correct

that pic had been shared loads before I even put it on here, anyways the thread as gone so just leave it,I tagged foxy and linz to get rid of it which they have done, and to be honest that's not really gonna stop thst picture getting shared as it's still doing the rounds.

Thats because, having lived in the East Midlands for 15 years, I can honestly say most Forest fans are utter cunts.

I do think a lot of it with their younger fans like the people in that thread is they've never experienced a game as big as that. They were all so wound up about it and still are.

I agree with most but I think apart from those weirdo "football twitter banter" types it is largely condemned by everyone. Definitely should have at least a match behind closed doors next season. It's definitely getting worse over the years and the twat who did it getting banned and jailed won't discourage the next person.

I'm not sure you can post whatever you want on an internet forum, but you seem to know what you are doing so good luck with that.
You can post whatever you like on here, but for certain things there are consequences. If someone chooses to post stupid stuff then they should accept the inevitable outcome.

You can't penalize the team for the actions of one Knobhead.

However, we had to put them in the BLUT after they invaded the pitch at BDTBL, then this last night, which was appalling. As serial offenders Forest need to be punished, and closing the ground for a couple of games or reducing their ticket allocation for Wembley should send a message.

The media darlings won't like it, but ho hum.

It should be condemned to be fair players have a right to be safe at work. It is getting worse and you’re right the punishment this lad faces won’t be a deterrent partially because his punishment won’t be as high profile as the incident so it won’t be seen by as many people.

I’m not sure what the solution is to the problem by the way

Wonder if a bit of digging can come up with an employer for him? Be nice to inform them he's glorifying violence on Internet

Think his twitter account says he is a freelance German to English translator, so might not have an employer, but could maybe work for an agency?

Didn't our fans did a pitch invasion after we beat Forest at home in the FA Cup under Clough a few years back? And yes the promotion one. Of course there were a few on the pitch at QPR the other week.

But since I've been an adult, i've had any desire to get onto the pitch, so I don't understand why fans would do it. Its the reason why fences used to be up at football grounds.

Not condoning or condeming fans going on the pitch but i don't think theres a need for it. It's illegal, but like Pyro, nobody really cares when its done in good spirits and there are iconic images of fans doing it right to celebrate.

However, in two games at Huddersfield and Forest, the home fans who've won the tie decide to bring negative headlines to their clubs because of a few horrible twats for fans.

I've never disliked either of their fan bases before, but both seem to be crossing the line between celebrating and disorder. Now they just appear to be twats

We, as fans, don't need to go on the pitch, but nothing is ever done so fans will continue to do it. Wasn't there a video from the other week of a Millwall fan going round clipping the ears of fans on the pitch and getting them off the pitch whilst Stewards did nothing?

I didn't pay too much attention last night but if the Riot Police had stood around the perimeter with dogs in between the Stewards then there wouldn't be many fans on the pitch. Perhaps that has to be the way we go to stop it, at least until the players are off the pitch

As a side note, the EFL will take action on this, probably with a little fine.

If the FA and EFL are serious about this then they need to start issuing warnings to all clubs now. Then, if fans encroach onto the pitch in numbers then that stand gets closed for 3 games. If there is a pitch invasion from all sides, then all stands get closed for 3 games.... perhaps with Away fans only attending. Of course if away fans do it, then away match ban for one game and close one stand for their home game. It would soon stop.

We either take action and don't allow it (because of a few fans) or we just carry on an whinge about it until another serious incident like this. Next time it could be much, much worse

Guy in the picture ain't 31.
The prick that attacked Bill also had short sleeves on, this fella isn't the guy.
