Shambles

Thanks for starting ANOTHER thread about the same topic as 25 other threads.

it does get bloody tedious though, time after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time. You know what I mean🙈
At least we’ve not resorted to rioting (yet)

I’ve not posted much since the end of the season, but my last proper post was about not making the same mistakes as last pre season… well here we are again 6 days before the season starts… unprepared, not replaced let alone cover for positions. As much as I hate to see us do shit, if we do it’s what Abdullah deserves, he’ll see the value of the club tumble… and he’ll end up with the quid he paid for us…..

Every business needs a strategy, ok we don’t have the cash but at least communicate with fans on what we aim to achieve to galvanise what we do have, it’s absolutely piss poor.

To top it all, the owner sharing info to certain people to drip feed us crumbs… it’s not on, I’ve been a supporter of Abdulla but this is beyond a joke. We need proper comms and answers to what a happening and what we aim to be achieving

Totally understand the sentiment of your post.

However any well run club tends to communicate sensitive meaningful info as little as possible to fans
because it's unprofessional to air you dirty wash in public or show your competitors your hand so they'd know what they're up against.
Also you'd find plenty of our fans would twist, ridicule and take any words out of context and use them against the owner at a later date.

A clever owner tries to control to media, this is either drip feeding bits of info to journalists or anyone with media ITK influence
because then if things change the owner can't be accused of lying or deceiving anyone.

Whilst we're currently in the transfer window it would be foolhardy to release any info regards our latest finances, player targets and latest ambition.
However once 31st August passes, then agree, the owner needs to explain what's been happening because it looks like we've almost repeated last season by starting the season with a weak squad. You would think they'll be a valid explanation but it's a farce really however lets not loose sight that there's still 1 week before the season starts and 4 week before the transfer window ends, so lets not judge too much until the end of the month.

It is a shambles. Two consecutive pre-seasons messed up due to uncertainty over ownership, leaving two good managers on the back foot, knowing full well it will be them taking the rap for failures beyond their control.

Last season we achieved the not inconsiderable feat of starting a season in the toughest league in the world with a weaker team than we left the Championship with. The outcome was inevitable before a ball had been kicked.

Likewise, this season. Wilder is doing his best to bite his lip but he knows his squad is nowhere near strong enough to mount a serious challenge over 46 games. A few injuries and we will be looking down not up.

Owning a football club is generally a thankless task and there are many clubs in a worse state than us. But important to remember, we have spent three of the past five seasons in the Premier League, generating hundreds of millions in the process. Certainly enough to build a strong platform for future success if invested wisely. At present, that legacy looks in serious peril.

calm down, in wilder we trust...

OK, I don't really post much......... but our Keeper is dog shit, our owners are dog shit, our recruitment is dog shit, there's a lot of dog shit, and no amount of smelly little bags will deal with it!!

It's not that much of a problem as we have enough that will eat it 😉

I’m non binary!…neither a bedwetter or a happy clapper…Or does that mean I’m both🤦

We all aim for promotion and want a squad that can challenge, but we all know that going back up this year may not be what's best for us without mega investment if we do...

Can appreciate this sentiment.

It's the Cooper deal that really drove it home for me. Desperate for a keeper, have apparently got the chance of quality one for the next decade for 3m. And can't get it over the line quickly.

That's not about promotion for me, it's about building a quality team for the next 4/5 years.

I was feeling ok before I bumped into one of the lads this morning. He was fuming about the board, lack of support for Wilder, missing out on the Wolves loanee and Dozzel ( spelling), adding that well go down again.

Feel like taking season ticket back
Take it back then?

When my mates talk bollocks I normally just tell them to shut the fuck up rather than returning season tickets and stuff.

I’ve resisted reading this thread. But, eventually I opened it, I wish I hadn’t. I just couldn’t muster the decking energy to read it, I’m spent, emotionally exhausted, disappointed, got footy PTSD.

I’m guessing
PA out
Poor Wilder
Betwetters

Did I get it all?

The moment the club believes success is unhealthy it’s doomed.

Fans may be sick of Premier League pastings, but I’ve no doubt Burrows, O’Hare and co came here to challenge. The enthusiasm of a new squad will soon rub off on the fans if only we can assemble one and get it working.

But whatever…. It’s moot for time being as we’re miles off it just now, and many of last year’s quitters are still here to give us all flashbacks.

Although you like spelling « spelling » a lot don’t you ? Its like reading reading at Reading University

We needed the biggest rebuild this club has ever known. We feared that the club lacked the resources, skills, budget, proactiveness and professionalism to get this done. We've been proven right. This summer has been a sluggish shambles, and we've learnt nothing from last summer.
