I’ve not posted much since the end of the season, but my last proper post was about not making the same mistakes as last pre season… well here we are again 6 days before the season starts… unprepared, not replaced let alone cover for positions. As much as I hate to see us do shit, if we do it’s what Abdullah deserves, he’ll see the value of the club tumble… and he’ll end up with the quid he paid for us…..

Every business needs a strategy, ok we don’t have the cash but at least communicate with fans on what we aim to achieve to galvanise what we do have, it’s absolutely piss poor.

To top it all, the owner sharing info to certain people to drip feed us crumbs… it’s not on, I’ve been a supporter of Abdulla but this is beyond a joke. We need proper comms and answers to what a happening and what we aim to be achieving

Like you said drip feeding info but you’ve made a conclusion that the Prince is to blame entirely.

Of course we all wanted the takeover to go through in double quick time and we don’t know what’s happened.

But we’ve had quite a clear out and brought in some players that now appear to want to play for the club, which is what many of us wanted after last season.

I’ve said all along that if the takeover takes longer but is done properly for the benefit of the club then that’s the best all round solution.

To be honest I’ve not really followed too much of the rumour and drip feeds as the usual suspects don’t have a clue and make shit up. I heard a few things from inside the club from people I trust back in June and early July, but again, not followed up on this as it’ll happen when it happens

Hopefully we can get a few more in by end of August, if not then we go with what we have. Seems like wilder is keeping things ticking over and doing it quietly and professionally.

It’s not been the summer we expected but it is what it is. No animosity from my side towards the prince. Also for bettis or wilder, by all accounts they’ve worked their arses off to get us ready for the season
 
I was feeling ok before I bumped into one of the lads this morning. He was fuming about the board, lack of support for Wilder, missing out on the Wolves loanee and Dozzel ( spelling), adding that well go down again.

Feel like taking season ticket back

I think it's about perspective, people are generally desperate for us to have a great season. I think when you accept our next push will depend on the takeover which will happen when it's good and ready you can look at it In a more positive light.
Traditionally I have been fairly negative but for me
  • We have made some top signings in burrows, O'Hare and Moore
  • We have made what look like they could be good signings in mcCallum and Shackleton
  • We have finally had a big enough change of personnel to stop being so rigid with formation
  • We have raised funds by selling players who are nowhere near our best for good fees
  • Made smart moves off the pitch re land and training facilities
We are imo managing things the best we can untill we are in a position to do more financially. Say the takeover doesn't happen to January or next summer we also are in a much better financial position to allow for a bigger push. I don't think the prince has done much wrong other than not being rich enough.

Problem is PA like last season, wants out so it’s half hearted summer business, don’t get me wrong love O’Hare and Moore but we’re screaming for a keeper and depth, need the endgame sorted now PA either stay and get a move on as we’re now in August or EFL need new owners to let shackles off, getting boring now.

I'd suggest the lack of communication is part of a strategy, not that I agree with it.

The Prince is the owner of the club so everything ultimately is down to him, in terms of way forward, comms, signing players, releasing players, contracts etc etc ........................if the people below him are incompetent and cannot follow instructions,well he needs to step in and sort them out. He or Bettis SHOULD be visible. I have never known a company where the owner or CEO diminishes responsibility in such a way. To even be at the club now and again would be a start, but we cant criticize him eh? It looks as though the lad from Wolves aint coming now, In my opinion (my humble opinion) is that he has hung CW out to dry by not signing off the loan fee! Indeed, we were led to believe 3/4 coming in this week, don't make me laugh. We are a few days away from the season starting and appear to be 'not ready' sound familiar? WE all know how last year ended. Also in my opinion the takeover was just a ruse, never was going to happen but an excuse to spend very little? He was here to take the plaudits when we got promoted but hiding in LA now, that is not leadership. Clown Prince Out!

It’s not an excuse to spend very little. We don’t have much money because the prince doesn’t have much money. Read the accounts and see where the money is going. It’s not very pretty. But that’s the situation we’re in.

As it stood at the end of May, Wilder wasn’t going to be around for more than a month. The summer hasn’t been clear in terms of many aspects, mistakes have been made. Of course, no denying that.

But we are going into the new season with Wilder in charge and a few new players in. We may lose more before end of August.

Mistakes have been made, your not kidding! I know football clubs lose money but it appears that he really cant afford to run a Northern League club so the future doesn't look too good does it!

They have. As I heard from one guy close to the club, they were doing things to make sure that there was a club… it’s not been easy and I’m sure not everyone will be happy… but as it stands, no takeover has been announced and so we go with what we have. Like Hecky last season we have to get us to that first game and then go from there

It looks ok in some aspects, not great in others. But better to crack on.

People that call for the prince to go don’t understand that this isn’t some democracy with another candidate waiting to jump in…. It’s a business

Agreed with this. I posted on another thread that all we can expect now from the owner is that he keeps us relatively stable financially until we’re sold. He isn’t go to go ‘balls out’ with signings and throw money in. We’ll need to reinvest some sales fees into the coffers and use some to pay wages and fees for new players.

The issue is that some people think we should take every penny we receive and buy players with it, the reality is that we can’t afford to do that and need to use some to run the club with.

He’s not a great owner and seems to be getting worse at preseasons as he goes along, but he wants to sell us, so letting us go to the dogs isn’t in his long term interests.
