I think the rules are that we can make no loan signings for 7 days.

I'm presuming that Blackwell has a promised loan signing that would only happen when the window shut.

We will have to wait and see.

The worriers should remember he has 2 weeks to sort it with the international break. :p

I'm not often shocked by our transfer dealings but to lose Tonge in this manner has knocked me back somewhat.

The fact that no replacement has been bought is very worrying but, as seems to be the general opinion, i would expect that someone has been lined up on loan.

Tonge has been poor of late but he was still the best attacking midfielder at our disposal; i wish him the best of luck.

But dont we have a replacement in the squad??? Hendrie.

I can also see Blackwell getting a good loan signing in as well.

confirmed on radio sheffield this morning that the deal was completed for £2.5m which is far more the sort of money that i would have expected.

Im not certain that he was worth that much but im glad we didnt get screwed over.

As for loans, with the players that have moved out and the release in wages in doing so im expecting a big LOAN signing coming in as soon as the window reopens. A loan on the basis of either a season long with a view to a permanant or alternatively until January sometime again with a view to a permanant.

The obvious names that have and will get thrown around would be Brown and Howard. Howard is a no go situation, can you imagine the revolt in dingleland (Insert Mel Brooks Joke Here) if Howard were allowed to leave on loan to us. Even the Dingles board arent stupid enough to let that happen. Brown i far more likely as he isnt getting much match time at wigan, and so would be more in favour of a move. That plus rumours of "Differences in opinions" between Brown and Bruce.

Im sure that there are plenty of other players around that Blackwell will be monitoring if he hasnt already got enquiries in about them, so i have faith that all will come good in the end.

I'm just astounded someone was willing to pay the reported £2m

Has nobody watched him for the last two or three years??

Much as I'm a fan of his, and I was really hoping that Blackie could bring that spark back, I (grudgingly) came to the same conclusion as most others. I also believe that the price is a corking bit of business. Still sad to see him go, but I wish him all the best, of course.
