Really worried if injuries kick in - no real depth

Midfield and attackers options are ok, the real problem is if Baldock and O'Connell get injured

Most teams are a couple of injuries away from potentially struggling. We are no different.

Tbf that's the case with most newly promoted teams. We have had to focus on ensuring our first team is premier league standard. Even established teams would struggle without certain key players.

There is an element of luck (Hulse) for teams such as ours.

The depth is fine as long as we don't get lots of injuries/suspensions all at once. It's easy to criricise the League Cup team, but every time Kieron Freeman has had to replace Baldock due to injury, he's done well and kept the shirt. He had some abysmal one-off appearances last season, but when he got a run in the side he stepped up and did well. Losing O'Connell would probably mean Stevens at centre back and Osborn at left back rather than using Bryan, but the system could stay the same, whereas Basham getting injured concerns me more as we have no replacement who can do the same attacking job as him even though Jags could replace him defensively just fine.

Knightmare scenario is Egan and Basham both being out for the same game and lining up with Stearman and Jagielka against anyone with pace.

I actually think we rely on individual talent far far less than a lot of other teams. Of course we'd be weaker if we lost eg Stevens, Norwood, O'Connell but in other areas of the team we're pretty well covered. Fleck has been amazing but Freeman did really well when he was injured. Up front we're rotating players every week anyway (although it appears we're much better with McGoldrick in the team than out of it, regardless of his finishing inability).

Plus we have no real idea about players like Besic or Osborn - they might be able to step in and do a perfectly reasonable job for all we know, it's just that the guys in front of them have been doing such a good job that they've barely had a sniff.

imagine if Wilder contracts Alzheimers
wed be in trouble then

or if theres a swarm of mosquitos and half the squad get malaria

could cause problems
Let’s hope all the squad have had their MMR jabs......potent for real problems if not🤭
