Every corner that they had we had eleven men back.
Joke!

Two men up front to hit them on the break but no, Wilder thinks more about not conceding than scoring, thus the reason why we do not have a clue how to break teams down and have scored so few goals this season.

When eve we have a corner I have absolutely no thought that we might score at all from it.

How sad is that? We literally never look like scoring.

Same with Robbo’s long throws.

We couldn’t even get a goal for Souttar and he’s 6’7”!

The annoying thing is... you watch... we never have anyone even challenging aerially... in fact scrap that, the only player I've seen attempt to win a header is Peck.

Do we practice set pieces?

To be fair, we should have scored from one tonight… Burrows that BBD saw saved.
Yeah - BBD hets either more or less on that header and it goes in - as it was he got exactly the right amount for it to head straight at the keeper.

Which one could argue was extremely good positioning by the keeper.

Just seen a stat, we’ve only scored from 1 corner all season and that was Oné’s header against Bristol City away which was played short and crossed into the box.

We’ve also only had 4 shots on target from corners this season.

2 set piece goals which has gone down as the Campbell goal against the pigs which I’m not sure I would class as a set piece goal and same for the Moore goal against Stoke when Gilchrist shot and it came off Moore’s foot and deflected in.

1 free kick, Hamer against Derby.

Desperate for a good set piece coach.
Probably the easiest thing to practice in training…We are truly woeful at corners.

All. Set pieces
That free kick burrows skies last night being pretty typical of our appaling efforts all season
May as well just let hamer shoot from every one
Rather than these floaty straight out of play or into the goalies hands efforts

Enjoyed reading this article about our 17/18 set pieces. Can't believe we have Gus Hamer taking set pieces instead of Paul Coutts and the coaching team can't give them anything inventive to work on. We've gotten so lazy with our prep.

Two of The Stag's goals today were almost identical. They had a player either side and just outside the penalty box. We didn't bother to mark them but flooded the goal area instead. When the ball inevitably came out to the unmarked players, surprise, surprise they scored - admittedly with excellent strikes but we clearly didn't learn the first time.

It was interesting also to see what Villa did versus Spurs the other night too. When Spurs had a corner Villa left 3 players upfield which meant Spurs had to leave 3 players back too reducing the threat from their set piece. It was a daring statement of intent, I thought.

Whilst I wouldn't quite advocate that for us, I would like to see us leave 2 up top in case a quick punt upfield from the goalie is on. More often than not we opt for the negative of bringing everyone back, then the goalie has to wait half and hour while everyone shuffles up field.

Also, why are we passing centres back to the goalie? Attack from the off for Fox sake! Why also do we waste so many free kicks by moving it a few feet? Gerrit upfield!

In our defence, Louis Reed will have those chances another 98 times and they won’t even trouble the target.
