Sending Ward to a relegation rival. Clever business?

He has gone to Derby who are lower in the form guide than us.

If that's the case he should do no better for them than he did for us. No league goals this season and friction with the manager.....makes perfect sense to let him leave to me. This is coming from a Jamie Ward fan! Can't argue with his form this season, its been poor.

Got to agree with SCB on this one
He's been awful this season and the word is that he's 'one of 5 or so bad eggs' that Adams wants out of the way
Jamie Ward will be hoping a change can get his career back on track, let's hope that in the short term at least he just does the same as he's been doing for us, not a lot
Massive shame as I was hoping he could really have a big impact for us this year

So we're sending someone playing like shit to a team playing like shit so that we don't have to pay him. Seems like a clever decision to me.

Looks like the only thing that wasn't shit was the money Ward was getting for being shit?

I'm disappointed about this because after showing a lot of initial promise he turned shit. Maybe he found Steve Kabba's "Billy Big Time" boots in the changing room...

it's a gamble.. we all know what he 'can' do.. if he suddenly starts to play well then the decision will look stupid

I predict that he'll play well, but I doubt he'll turn them around.

He'll be better for the move, he'll be fresh and trying to impress. They'll be amazed by his pace and the number good positions he gets into - he might even score in against Forest and give the rods to their supporters. I then fully expect his agent to be in the press shortly afterwards and Wardy's performances to drop off, dividing supporters. If the location trend continues then Leicester or Coventry to be his next club after Derby - unless he goes really crap and he'll end up at Walsall or Shrewsbury. *puts the chrystal ball back on the shelf*

Derby very kindly take players off our hands. Not quite the Lee Morris deal but if he is not performing and we stop paying his wages then good business.

Quite possibly the best decision we have made since sending David Unsworth to Wigan....

FFS United...

They probably remember how he tore them apart at Pride Park, which not a lot of us seem to be able to do.

We'll be in trouble if Pride Park is where he happened to miss place his pace. Personally, I think he left it in the cupboard under the stairs...

Yet another skillfull player mishandled by the d*ckheads we have in charge.

Er... whilst I see where you're coming from I think your post could just as easily read "Yet another player who showed brief flashes of talent but more often than not barely registered in a game." Whilst I'm disappointed it hasn't worked for him here and he's been unlucky with injuries, he has rarely looked anything above a League 1 standard player in my eyes. In a small squad he's dead weight and his temperament makes him a complete liability to us.

Wardy may prove me wrong but as has been mentioned Derby will slip down the fair play standings and possibly the league with him commanding a regular place in their squad. If he hasn't performed or has fallen out with 3 different managers (not counting Carver) in his time here, you've got to look at the player and not the managers as the common factor.

Not at all bothered by this to be honest. He's no help to us in his current form, and if he is as rumoured a problem off the pitch then all the more reason to get rid. For me, he's hasn't managed to shake off the memory I'll have of him being a complete idiot at the playoff final when we were pressing for an equaliser.

Revisionist history perhaps?

Kabba used to put a shift in, very unfair comparing him to Ward.

Not sure if Ward would have had the application to try and get over the injuries like Kabba did.

indeed... must have been to a different game to me then.. have we actually got 'any' skillful players left?.. boggy, yeates?? .. errm.. .. errm.. ..
