Season tickets?

The John Street family stand sounds like a perfect fit for you and your kids . Why didn't you go in there ?
I did at one bit. Spent a couple of seasons in there. It's not as good as the South Stand though imo. My kids aren't kids any more anyhow. The eldest is an adult and the younger one is on the kop with his mates, using foul language and being a nuisance to all around him. I told him to do it.

I went to ticket office on Weds to try and change my seats but almost the entire family stand had been sold out. Was told proper tickets should be sent out by three weeks before season starts.
Same on the South Stand too.

Bloody hell! It will be full of bloody kids banging their seats up and down, getting bored after ten minutes and fidgeting, turning round and staring at me when I shout at the referee, queues at the bogs and impossible to get a drink at half time. Sigh, shame we got promoted :) :)

Get em signed up now, more young uns the better, less for the fuckin rednecks up the road

He's already said his sister in law works in the ticket office and she told him.
So it sounds accurate to me.
His figures can be very dodgy at times, i'm just glad he hasn't copied and pasted the fuckers from somewhere. :D

We've approximately sold 17,000.....

It's like managing a sales man.

"What are you figures for next month?"

"I've got 100k confirmed, another 30k which will probably come off, and 58k in the pipeline. So 188k against my budget of 127k. That's next month sorted"

"Errrrrrr, no. You're 27k down at the moment. How likely is it that the 30k will come off?"

"60/40 in our favour"

"So there's an almost 50% chance it won't happen. You'd better get back out there fella and buckle next month up."

"Eh?"

Sorry mate you've lost me

At those prices that's disappointing to be honest.

Agree with the other poster, our season ticket sales aren't that dissapointing.

All a season ticket does is gaurantee the same seat for every match, which for some people isn't much of an incentive. It also prevents the hassle of having to queue up to buy/collect match day tickets, this for me is the biggest incentive.

The usual reason for most people to buy a season ticket is financial savings.
However it doesn't really apply to SU because we have a great membership scheme and reasonable match day prices so there's not that much of a saving hence why in the past I've rarely bought a season ticket eventhough I've had membership and gone to 80% of home games.

If we wanted to sell an extra 5,000 season tickets we could follow Wednesday strategy and raise match day prices to £40-£50. Then facing the prospect of paying rip off prices, there would be massive savings and a massive incentive to buy a season ticket up front, even if you can only make 50% of the matches.

It's a really risky strategy used by Wednesday, it's almost bribe/ threat tactics but so far it's seems to have worked BUT if they have a bad season next year expect many Owls to turn their anger towards Chairman Chancer and his rip off pricing.

No it isn't. It means that once again we will be one of the best supported teams outside the premier league and better than many in it. Given we are the biggest underachievers in English football that is incredible.

I was looking at it from a different angle. I think McCabe would have preferred as many of the loyal fans as possible to get a ST then this would have given him the scope to jack up match day tickets, especially for away fans (as the rest of the league will be doing to us). As it appears we will now be getting 5-10k walk-up fans (depending on how we are going) then this option has been taken away as he will have to price POD competitively now so as not to put them off going. The main beneficiaries of this will be the away fans who will be paying a lot less than at their own grounds.

Comparison with the pigs isn't really valid, they are getting ripped off for ST's too whereas ours are a bargain in comparison.

If that was the case, then surely KM would have said that match day prices would rise when STs went on sale. To encourage people to buy STs.

Then he would have had to back down. Our fans are not mugs like those up the road. I think he was hedging his bets and it didn't quite go to plan. He said he was expecting 18k but was probably secretly hoping for 20k.

He was hedging his bets and it didn't go quite to plan. Well, it wouldn't be the first time so it's certainly believable.

McCabe has always been more than fair on pricing for everyone, including walk ups and I applaud him for it.

We have talk of boycotts for away games when prices for away fans are increased beyond reasonable bounds. (Bolton last year, pigs next year to name but two) yet you are proposing that we do the same to others?

I see no reason why people that can only come occasionally should be penalised for that as for most it is down to their location, work commitments, or financial commitments.

We need to make it as fair as possible for everyone that wishes to come to BDTBL whether it's 25 times a season or twice a season.

Everyone is welcome in my church :)

It's not that long ago the club were saying we needed crowds of 16000 just to break even. Just saying.

Yep, sure am. If they're going to gouge us why should we do them any favours. Especially the two you mentioned, the pigs and fucking Bolton.

Approximately 17k season tickets, so anywhere between 16.5k and 17.5k, that's a great effort.

With the increased away followings, if we can hit the ground running then there's no reason whey we can't get 22k-25k on a regular basis.
