Season tickets?

I went to ticket office on Weds to try and change my seats but almost the entire family stand had been sold out. Was told proper tickets should be sent out by three weeks before season starts.

Whilst 18,000 season tickets seems an admirable number, you have to balance this against the "fact" that 15,000 of them will have been given away to students and schools. Of the 3,000 left 90% will have been sold at concessionary prices. My pig mate told me so it must be true. He looked like he was sucking a lemon whilst he was telling me this by the way.

Are we all getting new tickets this year or do I need to keep last year's ticket again?

So, do you think we are going to get bigger average gates than Wednesday this season then? It will be an interesting observation to make won't it? Both teams in the same division, a chance to make a proper comparison and maybe settle a few arguments about who is the bigger club? If we have a bigger average gate than Wednesday though, expect them to turn round and point out that it's because our tickets are cheap and theirs are expensive. On that note, I think United have got their pricing policy slightly wrong. I think they should keep the prices low for the Kop, Westfield corner and John Street, but really hike them up for the South Stand. This would then hopefully drive the vulgar piss-heads who sit in the South Stand near me to go back on the Kop or elsewhere, where they would be better suited.

Let's assume we sell 19K season tickets and Wedmesday sell 21K.

Looking at that stat makes it look like SW will obviously have bigger crowds
BUT statistics are not always that straight forward.

SW have a very agreesssive marketing strategy to FORCE their fans to buy season tickets.

Let's use their marketing tactics, apply it to Sheff Utd to take it to further extremes.
If SU said that match days pricing was £70 a ticket next season but season tickets are £300
Which can be paid in 10 monthly intallments of £30 a month.

In the above example I've no doubt we'd sell close to 25K season tickets.
But historically our ticket prices are always reasonable and 1000's also buy membership cards to gain a discount. So at BL buying a season ticket only saves to convenience of having the same seat, there's usually no great financial incentive to buy a season ticket, so in the circumstamces 18K is impressive.

Where as the 21K at SW is an artificially inflated stat. The marketing tactics used by Chansiri are a form of blackmail but the deluded lot still think he's a great Chairman.

It's ironic that they have a foreign Chairman who admits to knowing nothing about football, he's overspending/ wasting money putting them into debt at dangerous levels, hes an egomaniac putting his personal name on the shirts and on the stadium seating, he rarely communicates with the fans, no consideration of tradition, dumping the striped shirts for plain blue Ipswich colours and the big one, he's done what the unwanted Ken Bates said he'd do by putting up match day prices to rip off levels forcing any half interested fan to buy a season ticket.

Mark by words, more failure to gain promotion with rumblings of admin and Wednesday fans will be wanting all the sympathy saying they could be another Portsmouth. So why are they not complaing now?

I must be the only adult paying full price by the looks of it. Love to know how everyone else is getting in on the cheap tbh. Whenever I go through the turnstile steward are the other side watching the lights to see what price tickets you've gone in on. Must be a secret turnstile somewhere .

...and in one sweeping statement you manage to insult everyone on the kop. Not easy but somehow you managed it ;)

There's often a level of truth behind any rumour.

Apparently a few years ago some adults had sussed that they could gain admittance by using children's tickets. United got wise to it, they even released a press statment about it several years ago warning Blades that going forward they will have stewards on the other side of the turnstyles preventing this from happening.

We always average 6-8000 more than the number of season tickets we sell for that season. It never really fluctuates outside of this and the pricing for next season hasn't really changed so I can see the same. 25-27k average if we assume we'll shift another 1,000 ST's between now and the beginning of the season.

There are more Stewards outside on the lookout for contraband drinks and snacks .....

Compass Customs & Excise

So why are they not complaing now?

Do you really want me to answer that. I will try.

Because they are deluded.
Because they are easily led sheep.
Because they will believe anything anyone ever tells them.
Because they think they are massive.

Do you want me to go on?

Oh, and before I forget, because they are cunts.

Ring them up and speak to retentions. Tell them you are cancelling as it is two expensive. Check your online account and as you get closer to disconnection date you will get a bigger discount. You'll get 50% to start with, and then 60%. If you really hold your nerve you might get 60%.

We are talking about Sky subscriptions aren;t we?

Am I right in thinking the match day prices have not been announced?

Assuming this implies we're assessing ST sales before possibly tweaking the prices ?? Or will the club carry on the competitive, fair match day prices? My bet is the latter.

Once we go above them in the league, all that will change. Chancer or whatever his f*****g name is, will be the devil incarnate. Oh happy days. Utb ftp.

You come across as a wonderful human being.

Also wednesday fans have to buy season tickets to get a decent priced ticket for a game
individual match tickets at hillsboorough are 42 to 56 quid for cat A so its better to go st

Well that wasn't the intention at all. I had a season ticket on the kop for years and enjoyed it and the company of most of the folks on there. But I did get fed up eventually of a minority of morons who arrive late reeking of ale, and then are up and down every 5 minutes to go for a piss or a pie or another pint or whatever. I also didn't think it was appropriate when I started taking my young kids to the match, because of the foul language and the fact that they wouldn't see much for folks standing up or continually getting up to leave their seat. When I first moved over to the South Stand it was a big improvement in terms of the folks who were sat around us. In recent seasons though it seems to have got worse. I may have to move into the Director's box next, see if it's any better in there?

Exactly, tuna boy has made sure all the semi regular fans have to buy a st by pricing them out from buying single tickets

Very surprised the club hasn't put that out as part of it's marketing push to get as many STs sold as possible - it's a pretty obvious and easy one to shout about. The figure is wrong or the marketing mob have missed a trick.
I've asked the commercial dept twice on twitter and didn't get an answer, surely they'd want to whip up interest

The John Street family stand sounds like a perfect fit for you and your kids . Why didn't you go in there ?
