First season I’m not renewing for after having a season ticket for the last 22 years. Almost didn’t last season but came round in the end, and was actually reasonably excited in the close season when it seemed we had a plan to modernise the way the club is being run, but instead they just changed the manager and left everything else as it is.

For me the excitement has gone and I just want a break from what’s become the chore of going to the matches. It shouldn’t be that way, but the lack of any actual plan to move the club forward really makes me question why bother turning up every week when it’s miserable football with no actual long term thinking in place. I’ll still try and get to 10-12 matches throughout the season but will be nice to have a break for a couple of years.

I’m not particularly anti-Wilder, I just feel that the ownership since Covid has been poor, short term thinking throughout and that’s coming home to roost now. It’s awful mismanagement to have been on the journey we’ve been since Wilder came in 2016 to still be at the same substandard training ground, and have very little to show for what should have been such a financially successful period for the club which could have transformed us in the medium to long term. Instead, we’re looking at more short term thinking, more loans of overpaid ex premier league ‘stars’ and selling off our young talent to fund their wages all whilst we’re told ‘we have no choice’. We do. Smart, well run football clubs don’t sign Kalvin Phillips on a short term loan on big money in a season when we’ve nothing to play for. They don’t give out multi year contracts to Joe Rothwell who’s stunk out the place in the SPL for the last few months. Those losses need accounting for, so when we sell 2 or more of Brooks, Seriki and Peck in the summer (and keep in mind the wages for each will all be less than what we’re paying Rothwell), it’s hard to have any sympathy at all for those in charge of the club as they are putting us in this position.
Bamford sought a new contract and is quite poor currently on the pitch.. As for the other 2 ex Leeds ....
Then there's the Ings signing.

Chatting to a mate yesterday. His pal, 50's and two sons, all sacking it off next season. The mate has had ST's for 16 yrs now.

I realise this will come across as quite petty but the old £15 for a season card instead of mobile has really irked me this time around and has made me step back and think. I will likely renew at the last minute because it is my way to meet friends and family in the pub beforehand, but I feel like I am falling out with United (and pro football in general) and suspect this could well be my last ST unfortunately.

That £15 is a complete con. I’ve paid it but me and my family find it ludicrous.

56th in a row for me ,it was never about winning or I would have supported Liverpool like a lot of ex mates who never ever go to a game did. I have so many friends to meet up with including the guys who sit around me. Love a drink before and after in different places with different groups of mates ,a curry on a night match ,and not having to go shopping, watch TV or other shit past times like shoutbox.

During Covid it was heartbreaking watching the games being played in an empty stadium, not knowing when we’d get back or if the people who sat round me would make it. I swore if things returned to normal I’d never take it for granted again and I don’t. I won’t criticise anyone who has fallen out of love with the game or can no longer afford it but I will continue to go as long as I am able.

It’s been me and my lads time together for the last 8 years. He’s off to Uni in September and although I don’t mind going on my own I haven’t enjoyed the last 3 seasons much. With a little bit of sadness I’ll not be renewing and will go to games when my son is available. ⚔️

Fred Olsen, twice on the Bolearis (max 1300 guests) on a Northern Lights cruise and Christmas and New Year cruise. We'll be booking with them for the next Christmas/New Year cruise and probably a Greek Islands cruise.
We've also just returned from a cruise on the MV Hondius (170 guests) Polar 6 class. We had 5 fantastic days on the Antarctic Peninsula. 5 days full of incredible wildlife and stunning ice-bound landscapes.
If you like wildlife and smaller ships with the emphasis on exploring the natural world , try the "expedition" part of Hurtigruten , now known as 'HX'.
Fabulous people !
We have Svalbaard & Arctic Circle coming next month , dates chosen specifically to avoid the PO Final weekend ☺️
After briefly going 2-0 up v Mackems last time , I decided to ensure that no such Wembley heart-sickener would ever again befall me 😉

If I gave it as much thought as some folk do, I’m not sure what I’d do.
Luckily, it’s an easy one for me & I renewed quite quickly.
I still look forward to match days & enjoy the routine. It gets me out of the house, see mates for a couple of drinks & a catch up and then I like watching the match itself (though the last few seasons have tested that…)
Plus, there’s often summat happens that gives me a story to tell & this season’s been no different.
And now I’m 58 & getting close to concession time, I want to make sure I get some value back from all the years I’ve paid full whack.

I live in the Pacific Northwest so a ten thousand mile trip for a home game isn't an option every other week. If I was home I'd definitely have a season ticket. Weird really as I hate modern day football, and all the bullshit that goes with it with a passion. As has been mentioned above, agents should be put in camps, miles away from anywhere and left to rot. Any goalkeeper going down per an instruction from the manager should be sent off and have his first born fostered. Anyone falling down and feigning injury should be held down and kicked hard in the bollocks by half of the opposition team. All players should go through a gel detector and any soft cunt found with an illegal substance in their hair should be scalped.

The Premier League should become the European League with a TV blackout so we don't have to watch the VAR infested pantomime ever again. Wankers league, played, officiated and watched by wankers. Fuck the lot of them.

As to us well no matter what, Sheffield United is my team. Has been since my first game in 1967 and will be till I die. I don't know why, I'm definitely not banging on about being some super Blade or whatever, it's something that's completely irrational and something I can't explain, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

UTBFTP 👊👊👊

Mrs Norks was with our Jack yesterday and he was saying how much he'd loved coming to games with us for the last 20 years and being with us. He said no-one he knows is as close to their nan as he is with her. Admittedly, his mum lives in Spain, so she is sort of a surrogate mum, but if it wasn't for the Blades, she (and me) wouldn't have spent half as much time with him as we do.
Guess we'll be getting STs as long as we can put up with that drive.
Roll on the next season's fixture list.

Is it out yet?

One thing I will defend the club on is the £15 charge for season cards.

It’s so simple having your season ticket on your phone that I can not get my head around why anyone would pay £15 for a card. (Other than the obvious tiny minority of older fans that don’t have a smartphone)

So that others can use it if you can’t make the game

Is it weird i still look forward to matches even though we're garbage? Tomorrow Hull I'm ready for it... just hope we avoid a loss.

That probably explains why I should always get a ST.
